Question How do you hear of pub calls?

How do you guys hear of pub calls? I understand how to submit items for publication but several of you have posted on your blogs that you were published by submitting something for a very specific pub call request.
How do you hear about these pub calls?

Please do tell! ;-)

Here's a link to a blog (I think??) that list current pub calls. It's mostly scrapping, but I think there are stamping ones in there too. There are also links to most magazines in the sidebar - and those have pub call info on them too.

I for one don't like that site. I want stamping calls not scrapbooking and I can never finding stamping calls on there.

I have had to google stamping magazines to find them and then hunt through them to find stamping calls.

Anyone else have any other sites?

Way to go on deciding to submit! I have quite a bit of experience in this area and shared my thoughts on this thread.

Here are some magazine call links. Almost every publication will have the submission information either within their pages or on their Web site (or both!).

CardMaker
Stampington (Stampers' Sampler, Take Ten, etc.)
Just Cards!
Vamp Stamp News
RubberStampMadness

Scrapbook & Cards Today
Northridge Media (CARDS, Paper Trends, Scrapbook Trends, etc.)
Crafts 'n Things (absorbed the former "The Rubber Stamper" magazine)

If there's anything else you'd like to know, please don't hesitate to ask.
HTH!

Thank you!! It seems like there is nothing but scrapping calls there, week after week.

I wrote this list down for a dt I am on and am happy to share it with everyone:

There is a website called pubcalls that posts all kinds of contests, AND MAGAZINE calls each day...you can find it here:
http://www.pubcalls.blogspot.com/

This site will tell you what particular cards some magazines are looking for and the information for submitting them.

Stampington (Take Ten, Stamper's Sampler) has a site and you can find info on there for how to submit:
http://www.stampington.com/index.html

Cards Magazine posts their calls on their site--you can email entries too!:
http://scrapbooktrendsmag.com/submissions.html

Papercrafts Magazine: (they put their calls on the site--go to the menu at the top and click on create---send us your work and they will often have SPECIFIC calls they are looking for--so you have to check back often!)
www.papercraftsmag.com

Then, lots of publications have information in the back of thieir magazines listing what they are looking for and deadlines. Often I will go to borders, get some hot chocolate and sit down with a few and list out that info.

A lot of publications send out call info to designers via email after you have had a few things accepted by the general calls. These come right to your inbox and you get a little heads up on the general calls.

Hope this helps!

Good luck!

Default PUB??? Oh, that pub....

Funny thing, until they changed the phone number, a local tavern's was similar to ours. We would sometimes get a call at 2 A.M. asking for Charlie, or Buddy or Fred.

When I saw the title How do you hear of PUB calls, I was confused for a few seconds. Why would someone ask about that on a stampers forum? DUH!

I actually misread the title and thought it said "Pub Crawls. . . "

I am glad I read it though, very useful information!
