Default help with formatting blogger

Can anyone help me or direct me to some directions that will help me? When I post in blogger, I am trying to make part of my text show up farther down from the rest but when I hit enter, it doesn't change how it looks on my blog just on the post part. (does that make sense?) I want the recipe for my cards to be below the rest of my post and it still shows it attached to the bottom of my babbling instead. Any help would be great!

Oh, I forgot. I have another question, too. Is there a way to make a post stay at the top of your blog for a while? I'm sure I've seen people do that with blog candy. Thanks!

Hi Niki, I really don't know the answer because I can't add spaces between paragraphs/recipe either using blogger, but I type everything in Word and then paste over to blogger. That's the only way I figured out how to add spaces. ;)

By the way your blog is wonderful, love your work! Jovi

Thanks, Jovi! I may have to try using word, too. Do you just type everything out and then add the photos in blogger?

yes, I type everything in Word then paste and then upload my photos, it's then easier for me to drag my photos around ;)

Blogger seems a little buggy with line breaks to me. I have my settings set so that blogger adds the line break tags (
) when I hit enter. Sometimes it doesn't "stick" though and when I return to a post or preview it, the line breaks are gone.

If you go into Edit HTML and add your empty space there by hitting return multiple times, it will usually work.

If you want your post to stay at the top you can click on Post Options at the bottom of the editor and change the date to sometime in the future. You can also force a new post to go lower by the changing the date to the past.

Another option would be to add an HTML or Text page element and place it under your header and remove it later if you want.

How do you "drag" your pics around in your blog?

I'd love to know how to get a pic, then some typing underneath the pic and then another pic underneath that, and so on.

Position your cursor/pointer over the picture you want to move. Press and hold the left mouse button. While holding, drag the cursor to where you want the photo. You should see a little rectangular image icon moving along with it. When you release the left mouse button, the image will have been "dragged" along.

You can do the same thing with blocks of text. Just highlight the text you want to move and then drag it to another location.

To put a break in a text, edit HTML and add

. It will put in a new paragraph.

The easiest way I have found to move my pictures is to copy/paste/. I just click the picture I want to move, copy (ctrl +c) click where I want it to be and paste (ctrl +v). Then I delete the original picture at the top of the post. Much easier than having to drag them all over the post! ;)
