I'm nervous!! Just opened my weekly email from Hobby Lobby and the savings coupon is only for 25% off. Do you suppose the days of 40% off are over? There was no coupon in the newspaper ad. Maybe they are just taking a break as they don't offer the 40% off every single week but I've never seen a general 25% off. We may have to picket the stores!!! LOL
I hope that they are not doing that. I have put myself on a self-imposed spending ban, but there will be times I need or want that for something.... I know a week or two ago it was 40 percent so it's not a 2008 thing at least. UGH!
Some weeks the 40% coupon will run and some weeks it doesn't. I hope they aren't cutting back with it. I'm going to go to their website and see if there is a 40% coupon there. I'll let you know.
ETA: Just a 25% coupon. BOO! Let's hope next week it will be back to 40%!

I did notice that the coupon was only for 25% off, I was thinking the same thing I really hope they aren't cutting back I look forward to using the 40% ones, not too sure I will be rushing out to only save 25% (I know sounds silly but true)
I thought the same thing. The only thing I can think of is that a couple months back they did not exclude Cricut items on the coupon by mistake and a TON of Cricut items had to be sold half off, including the Expression. I wonder if this is just trying to make up for all that lost money. They were selling Cricut items at way below their cost.
Man! I wish I would have used the 40% off coupon last week.
WOw...I wished I would have known about the 40% off on cricut b/c of a printing error...darn! I really hope they aren't cutting back b/c if they do I will have to too. :(
I think this is the same thing they did last year. You get a 40% off coupon every week during the holiday season. The rest of the year it was every other week- with a miscellaneous coupon the other weeks.
Edit to add: I take that back- you're right, I've never seen a "general" 25% off coupon- that is just NO good!
While there aren't any Hobby Lobby's here in Los Angeles, Michaels has been doing the same. They used to have a 40% coupon every other week and then in September or there abouts, they went weekly I'm assuming for the holidays and now I think they are going back to bi weekly. How is HL compared to M's anyways?
I'm hoping for the positive and that they're competing with Joann and M's and deciding to offer a weekly coupon and the 'off weeks' are the 25%? And maybe they've seen M's doing their coupon in scrappin' mags. I did notice that the HL coupon was not in our paper. It was only in my email. But we did get 50% off coupons in our paper at Joanns. But no M's circular???
I miss my 40% off coupons, so I filled out Hobby Lobby's survey and told them in the box that says comments, suggestions, etc that a 25% off is not worth my time, engery and gas money especially when there is a michaels RIGHT next door in my situation. Maybe if we did the survey it would help??
IMHO...HL always seems to be going "on the cheap" yet charging more for papercrafting/stamping items. i find that i like michaels and joann's a lot more, even if it's a little farther to drive. HOWEVER, i will say that they do put stuff on sale a lot. i have a lot of brads and paper to prove that.
Thank you for shopping at Hobby Lobby and for your email in regards tothe coupon. We do have a rotating schedule for our coupons and this isjust one we are adding into the rotation. We have not done away with our40% off coupons. Please keep looking each week in our sale ad or on line at www hobbylobby com. Once again, we appreciate all of our customer's comments. It helps keepus in tune with what you want and would like to see from our stores.
Not sure if all HL are doing this, but you might want to sign up for email stuff because I hear they are going to offer specials that way (coupons) and they won't be on the web site or at the store and it is only if you are signed up for emails. Again I don't know if there is truth to this and I did not read the bulletin board at work to see if it is true. Guess I had better read it next time I am working.
The good new about signing up for HL emails is that they allow you to print all the coupons you wish and you can use one per day during the sale. So if it's a 6 day coupon you can buy 6 items at 40% off (0r 25% this week).
Sometimes I go to two stores :-) I may need professional help!
But other posters are correct. Before the holiday season began (early as it was!), the coupons were often every other week, and not always 40%. Sadly, I'm another one who was beginning to "enjoy" that temporary regular 40%.
Did the survey! Almost mentioned how much other stuff I would routinely yet unexpectedly buy when intending to buy the 1 item w/ the coupon but the discount is no longer enough to warrant a special trip.
Didn't it seem like there were a lot more 50% off coupons leading up to Christmas 2006 than Christmas 2007? It seemed like Hobby Lobby and Michaels alternated who had the "good" coupon in 2006. I didn't notice very many 50% off coupons in 2007.
