I want to finish unmounting my sets to greater organize my craft room. I'd like to keep it cleaner, but I know better--why waste time cleaning if you can be stamping?

Smiles,

Use up my stash and not buy anything new until I've used it up! Organize my stuff - anything that has sat unused in 2007 is headed to BST or eBay!

I want to make my cards when I sign up for a swap...not the night before they need to be postal!

These are always fun to read and see how alike we all are.

I also need to use some sets that have never seen ink. Get rid of stamps that I have in boxes. I meant to learn how to use eBay or try BST. I want to stamp more so I can donate more to the troops.

I did meet my 2007 goal of using up my alterables. I'm almost there!

Oh, and stop buying things because they are cheap and thinking you are going to use them. No more Primas!

To the OP: I have been stamping for 11 years, I just go for it! I usually have an idea in my head, but I'll make lots of blank cards that are good for any occassion and I can stamp or write the sentiment inside when I need it. I had a huge stash of Thank you cards for awhile when I found myself just wanting a blank card.

My resolution is to find out exactly what I have. And use it. HA.

I was amazed that I have the following items, to name a few, and can't remember the last time I used them:

wire
beads--beautiful beads at that!
Monogram stamps
spectrum pads
hinges

You get the picture. I think I have overdone it this year and 2008 is gonna be great! It will be like shopping in my own private store.

Are you laughing with me?

I have several:

1. to use my stuff whether it's retired or not
2. to use my supplies that have been sitting unused for too long
3. to stamp more
4. to send more cards for no reason (RAKs)
5. and this is the BIG ONE - to get my stamping space CLEAN, and KEEP it that way!!!

I am so tickled with myself. I went thru 1 solid week of re-organizing my studio. I now know what all I have and even better where it is My resolution is to finish scrappin projects that have been started or need to be. To do the challenges I read each day and then don't seem to get around to doing cause I'm scared. To get cards to people who want them in their shops. And to actually send cards to loved ones. Man, that sounds like a lot to me. Well, a gurl can try right???

SOOOOOOOOOO for the New Year I am going to try to do 1 card a day.. I don't think that will be too hard right? I think its the fear of stamping and making it look right that scares me.. I just started stamping, I don't even have 6 months yet! My thing is altering stuff I love to do it.. but I have slowly started to move into the stamping world as well.. Ok so I'm moving like a turtle! lol.. I'm just learned what inks are best to stamp an image how to blend and all that good stuff... For the yr. to come I want to be comfortable to go just go to my area and grab some stamps and paper and just make a card w/hardly any thought(a girl can dream!lol)... hmmmm we shall see.. So enough of me talking, what is your New Years Stamping Resolution?
Just a few little points!

It is great you are setting goals- that's a big part of accomplishing them!

But, always a but, my suggestion to you goal of one card a day; how about one card a week. But do several of them. You come up with your idea, colors accessories...now you make your one card and that's it? Then once you use it by giving it or sending it - now you are out your beautiful idea.

Instead, if you made maybe, 5 of the same card during that week then you are going to be more able to share your beautiful cards and you can then also keep one for yourself!

Coming up with the ideas is half the battle-creat lots to share lots, then move on to the next card or project!

My list is lengthy and ambitious. I'm going to do my best to stick to it.

1. Create 3 cards a week.
2. Organize my photos and scrapbook once a week.
3. Keep my "stamping stash" organized so I can stamp more and search less.
4. Weed out things I don't use and sell or donate them.
5. Try not to be so critical of my work.
6. Use the digital camera I'm getting for Christmas to create an SCS gallery.

Mine is to put away the cc and have a budget for my stamping. I have a son starting college next fall...My husband told me if I sold everything in my room I could pay for his entire 4 year college stay...what a guy...he actually was just giving me a hard time as he doesnt care what I spend but I was feeling the guilt because I know I have way way too much and the boxes just keep turning up on my doorstep...

In 2008 my most important stamping/scrapbooking goal is to let go of comparisons and judgments about whether a creation is "good" and let my inner voice and personal style lead the way. I yearn to just be me. Just be me. And let that be enough.

My Stamping new year resolution:

To stamp at the very least 5x week. Even if it is just a little note.

To make all the cards I need for the coming year and not at the last minute, making extra for a box that I want to set up for filing cards.

To use some of my alpha stamps for my scrapbooks.

To actually MAKE some of the bazillion ideas I have in my idea books!

Smile Unmounting??

Hi, you mentioned that you wanted to:

1) Finish the great unmounting process (hope to finish before 2008 )
2) Finish unmounting all my wheels (ditto)

Why are you unmounting? To use with acrylic blocks or?

Thanks.

I have two of the same resolutions I failed to accomplish last year: 1) make 10 Christmas cards each month and 2) send out 2-3 cards each week.

I also have a few new resolutions: 1) organize stamp room and keep it organized; 2) organize cards I make into categories and store them in a spinning rack out in the stamp room so when I need a card for a specific occasion it's easy to find; 3) use up my stash of retired designer papers and ribbons on projects I can give away or sell.

Whew -- that's a lot of resolutions for just one year. Wish me luck!

Also, are you using some technique of embossing?......Do you use your die cutting machine for additional embellishments (ok, yes, you can also cheat and purchase die cuts, but there's no personalization in that). These are just a few of the things that need to be considered for your card before even picking up a rubber stamp. I don't mean to overwhelm you, but the entire process is all part of the FUN of doing the cards. You'll be proud to present your card to the person if you've taken the time to really plan it. Hand-made cards are things people should want to keep, not just read and toss.

If this method works for you, that's great. There are many techniques, styles, preferences, etc. in the stamping/scrapping world - it's what makes us individuals. Your post comes across a tad preachy - perhaps not meant that way, perhaps you're just offering advice.

My personal preference is to not have a lot of rules, structure & rigidity. Unless I have to make a card for a particular occasion, I usually just head to my stamp room & create. Maybe I pick up a stamp & say "I want to make something with this today" - or a particular color, embellishment, etc.

There's enough 'rules' in the world - I like to think of my stamping as a 'rule free' zone for my creativity.

Oh my resolutions are to spend less $$, use what I have & take more time for stamping.

:-) Anne

I should take more care of my desk...it's always untidy because I need the whole stuff that's on it....and on times it is tidy I'm always searching those things I've put away...

I want to stamp every day (I pretty much do that now), but I also want to SEND cards that I make. I was NEVER a card-sending, so when I started stamping, it didn't really occur to me to SEND them (except for Christmas cards - I've always sent those and now I make them too)! I just keep putting them in binders, which my SU customers LOVE to look through. I have gals that love to look at ALL of them every time we get together! <g> But I think I could spare some to send and brighten someone's day!

I just wanted to add something to what the others said about creating cards. I'm a pretty good stamper, but I lack in the creativity department (though my customers would disagree). I CASE from the Gallery. I rarely copy something exactly - sometimes what I make is a combination of 2-3 cards, but sometimes I just alter one I really like. Note: I don't do swaps or enter contests or pass these off as my own ideas! It's strictly for my personal use and Stamp Camps and my gals know where I get my ideas from! But you don't need to come up with your own new idea to enjoy stamping. Start with someone else's card and change up a couple things - ENJOY it!

For me, stamping is important to my peace of mind. It truly brings me joy. A couple years ago, my mom was very sick and we didn't know if she'd live through it or not. Everyday after I made the 2-hour round trip drive to the hospital, I came home and I HAD to stamp or I'd go nuts! My stamping room isn't huge or fancy, but a couple friends have independently commented on wanting to come over and get "some comfort" from sitting in my stamping room and chatting with me, so it's interesting to know that others feel the same way about my room! ;-o

Other than sending out cards, I just want to keep stamping. No way am I going to stop buying (I buy mostly SU since I'm a demo), but I want to keep using my retired stamps too, which I'm already doing. And I want to use up my gorgeous patterned papers so I can buy MORE! <g>

My resolution is to be happy with what I have. I'm going to start a strict monthly budget so stamp purchases will be at a minimum. I've also decided to use up at least a quarter of my patterned paper before I buy anymore. I have way too much of that stuff lying around that I've been hoarding. I think I'll be happier when not overwhelmed with supplies.

I'd like to scrapbook a bit more, but stamping is so much fun!

My main one is just to have fun with it, and take more opportunities to sell more cards because that just about makes me as happy as making them.

I need to stop hoarding my supplies (paper is the worst!). I guess that's my biggest resolution.

I really liked the suggestion earlier of having a stash of cards "just in case." I might add that one, too!

- To get my butt in gear and build up my Stampin' Up! business
- To make 10-20 Christmas cards per month (I sell my cards at a local gift boutique and they have sold out of my Christmas cads 2x already!)
- To start hoarding my card selling income for that 'rainy' stamping day ;P lol
