I think it's $5, that's how much my demo charges us. She'd rather us buy stamps than pay more for the catty.

I think each demo is different in what they charge.... I know a demo who was charging $10 for them. Needless to say I didn't by mine from her. lol

With shipping, they cost demos almost $5 each. If your demo is giving them to you free, she's really sweet!

if you place your catalog order on a hostess party order, she has to charge you the $9.95 price that is listed as the price - the computer makes you enter it that way on a party order.

if you host a party of $150 or more, she is supposed to give you one for free.

lots of demos also offer to preorder them for you, or sell them throughout the year from their stash, for the cost to them - which is about $5. demos have to buy them in boxes of 8 to get that price. if you have a demo that can't afford to outlay that kind of money to keep them on hand, or maybe only has a small customer base... then maybe she continues to have you put them on your hostess party order... it benefits the hostess with sales, and it benefits you when there is a special or something, that you have to spend a certain amount of money to earn.

hope some of that info helps you understand why your demo charges what she does. you should also feel free to ask HER about why she does what she does. every demo runs their business differently, but she may be willing to just tell you her reasoning!
