Julia I love this challenge. I have been encouraged to use some of the things I've had in my cabinets since before the cabinets were built! Here is my second card: WT139_Velvety CHRISTmas by ShariW at Splitcoaststampers. It does look better in person and in person you can see the rich, deep color of the green velvet.

I thought I'd try using my iron and a stamp to emboss velvet---I've been wanting to try this for forever!! Does anyone know what this technique is called?
I made this challenge using red flocking to look and feel like velvet. I am amazed by how much the flocking looks just like velvet in person. I am not sure if it looks like velvet in the picture. You will have to be the judge. Thanks for the cool challenge.
Here is my card for today's Very Velvet challenge. Thanks Julia, this was fun! This card is for a little girl named Hailey who is recovering from surgery to help with her Chiari Malformation. Thanks for looking at Hailey's Velvet Zebra!
I got my item done. It is not a card but a covered journal that I've been wanting to make. I've also really wanted to use these papers and items!! Thanks Julia for an awesome challenge!!!
I found some wide red velvet ribbon and wanted to give this challenge another try. Definitely goods better IRL. Fun challenge. As always, thank you so much for looking.
Here's mine - a day late, but - oh well!!! It's a bookmark with a sleeve to keep it in -- a little gift item. I sure love the idea of the velvet challenge, only wish I had time to do more -- I had so many ideas -- so little time -- life is tough!!!! Thanks much, Julia:
My WT139 5 1/4" square card using designer paper and velvet ribbon with a single stitch ribbon over the top of the velvet ribbon. I love the simplicity and color combo. Enjoy, Nancy
awesome challenge, julia! here's my submission...i tried to take a picture that would show the velvet ribbon better, but it always looks shiny like silk ribbon. i hope you all enjoy it! tfl!
Luckily I "had" to get these done for the Ladies' Day for our church (happening tomorrow!) This is the first time I've been able to upload something in WEEKS! I've been swamped with lots of not-so-fun fun work.
Here is my late coming card. I actually had it all finished on thursday but, was in a rush to catch a ferry to go visit my Mom and could not get a decent shot of this card, so, it just had to wait until I returned from my visit. Hope you like it.
