Starting November 15, the sale of hand-stamped items will be allowed at fixed retail locations.
Angel Policy - Article 4 of Stampin' Up!'s Angel Policy has been revised to allow the sale of hand-stamped items in permanent retail locations. The seller must clearly indicate that the items were created by hand, and not a product of the company. The seller may indicate that the supplies used to make the items are from Stampin' Up!, but the company logo may not be used in any way for the sole purpose of promoting the sale of these items.
But here on SCS, we do not allow the sale of handcrafted items. This policy will not change.

WOO HOO! I'm very excited about this change. I never sell cards personally (no time to make that many, lol), but I know some people on my team (and some who are on the fence about signing up) who will be very excited to learn that they can sell their cards at retail locations.

[Edited to add: Does "fixed" location include the internet, too? Anyone know?]
Yes, the updated policy (which will be posted on the customer site probably around Nov 15th when it goes into effect) specifically includes internet sites:
Quote:
4. Completed, hand-stamped projects may be sold at competitive and non-competitive permanent retail locations, as well as temporary craft events, community fundraisers, and over the Internet. In selling handstamped projects, the seller must make it clear that the items are hand-made, and not a product of the company. The seller may indicate that the supplies used are from Stampin’ Up!, but the Stampin’ Up! logo may not be used in any way for the sole purpose of promoting the sale of hand-stamped projects.
Oh wow! This day just keeps getting better for me! I found the perfect plants for my flowerbed (japanese dwarf holly @ $5 per)- caught every green light on the way home, and I had avon orders in my email box. lol This just makes it so much better, I'm off to call my dh @ work to tell him.. rofl
Yipee. THis is good. Went to Cleveland OH last week & walked around their "Little Italy" there were many SU stamped cards for sale in fixed locations & also in temporary locations as there was an art festival going on. I was surprised to see them in the shops. I guess they got a little "ahead" of the new policy but who cares! I get excited whenever I see handmade cards!
Woohooooooo... good news for us liberal types! Elizabeth Hasselbeck is leaving The View. Apparently Tim got a job in Arizona and they are moving. She's decided to be a SAHM.

I saw your second post about "oops, wrong forum" but when I read this one all I could think was that maybe Elizabeth Hasselback is a closet stamper and is leaving The View to create beautiful handstamped works of art for sale at permanent retail locations! lol!
On a more serious note, I am delighted that SU has decided to make this policy change....up until five years ago you couldn't sell SU anything then they changed to ruling to permit a "limited" angel policy with sales at craft fairs, etc. Now it looks as though they have gone all the way with permitting sales wherever you want within the terms of the angel policy for identification purposes, etc. and I think that is just terrific news! Not that I plan to be selling stuff....that sucks the joy right out of it for me, I prefer teaching people how to make their own creations, even if they just copy mine! lol! But I know a lot of ladies who will be just thrilled about this. Jan
That's great! There has been a couple of stores in our area that has wanted me to sell my cards in there stores. Now, I can. I am soooo excited, that I can call them and tell them Yes!
I think this was a super smart marketing move on SU's part. I bet they will see their sales skyrocket. I know of soooooooooooooooooooooooo many stampers who only buy stamps from Angel companies!!!! I know of so many more who limit the amount they buy from SU because of their former restrictive policy.
Now if only they will offer two-step stampin' and alphabet sets in photopolymer clear stamps...
I am so excited to hear this!! I am in pending this month b/c I stopped buying a lot of their stuff b/c of this policy. Now I have to get an order in by the end of this month to stay active. Way to go SU!!
That's wonderful news! I wonder if SU wasted a lot of time and resources with individuals who they felt weren't complying with their Angel Policy. Whatever their reasons, I am happy that they changed it for those who like to sell (or would like to start selling) their cards.
I have sold my cards to friends and my hubby's co-workers - they love them! I have a friend who owns a shop in town that can sell them for me now too.
Everyone tells me I don't charge enough - I charge $1 per card (and that includes an envelope), but with that price I sell quite a few. I figure I only charge what I would be willing to pay myself!
I just today took some different things that I stamp up to hubby's work to see if anyone wants to order anything from me. Here's hoping for some extra Christmas $$!

You're not paying yourself for your time! And if you went to buy a card anywhere, it'd cost you more than a dollar!
Try something radical ... charge $2 and see if it makes a difference (other than to your wallet!) ;)
That is great! I'm going to rejoin SU! soon, and both my upline and I work at a retail shop - our boss keeps saying she should sell her cards, now we can!

No kidding!! I sell my cards to my friends and they GLADLY pay $2.50 a card. If they get six I give them a break - Just $12.50. They say they are cheaper than store bought and much nicer! I wouldn't GIVE them away!
JMHO!

im super happy about being able to sell some su stuff. i had wanted to try selling pre-made scrapbook pages but i only have su stuff and didnt want to invest in more. yea!! maybe ill give it a try.
There is something here that I don't understand. The statement says something to the effect that "the seller may indicate that the products used are Stampin Up....."
The key word here is "may". Does that mean that you don't need the official SU stamp on the back of everything? Or, does that mean that when you advertise your stuff you may, or may not, use their name?

You still need the copyright stamp if you are usinig SU! images. This goes on the card/craft item itself.
However, in your advertising, you are allowed to say that "cards are made using SU! products" ... but you don't have to.
