Hi, just wanted to find out what size is the finished box. I tried doing it but my box look small compared to those that are being posted. Do you enlarge the template when you print/copy it? Thank you.

These are so cute and easy! The size is 2x2x1 and it prints out that size.
Helpful hints I discovered.
I printed the two per page template - then scored the whole page at one time - then cut it out. Found it much quicker than cutting and going back to score.
Also when cutting the "slit" make your cut on the line closest to the punched out window. Your tab will slip in easier. If you err towards the other side of your score - the slit will be on the front of the box not the top. I know that sounds confusing - but trust me, I did it wrong the first time and my box didn't close as easily.
I also learned that its easy to wheel a design on the back side before you score and cut - especially if you are mass producing.
hello, thank you so much for the template, they are so cute! i can't wait to make these. but i just have one question and it will probably sound a little bit dumb but i don't want to mess anything up so how do you get the paper to be a different color? do you just put different color paper in your printer or do you cover the box up with paper when you are done or how do you do it?

Some printers print on Stampin' Up Card Stock without any problems. It's usually through the manual feed. My printer even has a flap at the back that can make the card stock feed out straight instead of bending around to the top. If your printer refuses to do card stock (and I know some printers have a mind of their own), you can print the template out on regular computer paper. Cut the template out and adhere it with temporary dotto to your card stock (so it doesn't move while you cut it). Now you can cut the template out and SCORE right onto of the computer paper before you take the template off. I like to use a ruler and the small ball of my stylus tool to make the score marks. You can also punch the window and make the slot without removing the template. I hope this helps.

You could also try scoring with your bone folder. I just prefer scoring with my stylus tool.
:( I tried to make this adorable box out of pretty 2 sided SU paper, but as it turns out, the paper is too thin and does not score well.
You can make a box out of the double-sided paper, but you have to be gentle with the scoring. It will also not be as sturdy as a box made with the card stock. I think there is a sample in the gallery made with the paper. Sorry that yours didn't turn out.

You can get transparency sheets at Office Depot. I think my box had 100 in them and cost between $10-$20. I think some copy places will also sell you individual sheets.
How are you all doing these boxes...are you putting your card stock and printing the patter out on it and cutting it out...are you cutting out a pattern and tracing around it or are you measuring the pattern and cutting it from there. I need help. If you are printing it out on the cardstock and cutting it do you cut just inside the lines so you don't see them? I tried measuring it and reproducing it but it was kind a hard and took alot of time. Any help will be appreciated.

I have just printed mine out on the computer, the lines are on the inside and you really don't see them. Everyone is just awestruck on the little boxes. I made a Christmas one for the girl that does classes for us in Ontario. She has a rubberstamping business called Butterfly Moon. I have taken classes with her for four or five years. I have made Halloween ones for my grandsons, I printed them off in orange and stamped halloween bg stamps on it and a web and spider on the acetate. I hope this gives you some information.
I would love to make these for table placments for the family Christmas party this year Problem is there are about 100 of us! Does anyone know how to turn tis into a Wishblade template?

You can print the pattern directly onto the card stock, if your printer will let you.
Alternately, you can print the pattern onto regular printer paper, adhere to your card stock with a little temporary dotto (just enough so it doesn't shift while you are cutting/scoring). Then cut out the pattern and score right onto of the printer paper. I use the small ball of my stylus tool and a ruler.
I saw this box all done up and went straight to the link that had the instructions. My printer was able to print on cardstock so I just did up a quick one on WW paper and put it together. I will decorate tomorrow. These are so cute. I love them. HUGE THANKS TO QBEE!!! :mrgreen:

I used my Scotch ATG. I think any light adhesive (dotto, mono etc.) would be fine, because the transparency sheet is really light. I would make sure to go all the way around so that there is no sagging.

The same width as the card stock, which if I remember correctly is about 2"x2". You will need the piece to be a little larger than the window on all sides to place adhesive on.
These are SO very cute! I made a few for Halloween, and now I'll do some as table favors for our work Christmas party. Thanks so much for sharing your terrific little box pattern--you're the BESTEST!
