Having to go to your in-laws the week before convention without having enough swaps done!
So you pack a bunch of stuff, taking enough stuff to make at least two card fronts in multiples. You curse and swear as you pack your stuff, trying to find the wheel that has gone mysteriously missing (it rolled under a dresser!) You try to think of every little last thing you need and are confident you packed everything!
You set up your little stamping factory at the in-laws house and you start creating. You come up with a super cute card front...it's absolutely darling. So your cut all your cardstock and start stamping....then....
It's too darned hot to heat emboss 32 card fronts. Rats. Might as well wait until I get home on Thursday to do that part.
Then...
I decide to cut enough ribbon pieces for all 32 card fronts. And I run out! There's no more at home...email upline frantically asking if she has any to trade, but will still have to wait until Sunday night when I am spending the night at her house before we go to the airport early Monday!
I am glistening here with you, Janine. I came to work this morning, and my office (which has non-functioning windows and just one door) has no AC. None. It is 8:20 am, and the temperature is a very still and humid 87. So it feels like Hades. Which is what I will look like at the end of the morning if maintenance does not show up SOON.
UGH. I feel for you on your swaps. . . but hey, you're going to Convention! That's your bright spot to focus on!
It's not that hot outside here, but my in-laws trailers, excuse me, MANUFACTURED HOME, is always too warm! Even if you persuade them to put the air conditioning on, they only turn it down to 80 degrees!
I found some similar ribbon at Hobby Lobby...the quality is not quite as good as ours, but it will pass. Just wondering now if I have enough Iridescent Ice EP to be getting on with....
Sorry to hear you are dripping! You could come to Alaska. It should only be in the 50's today and raining. Perfect stampin weather except the kids are inside with ya. lol
I ran into the same problem when we moved up here. I had brought everything to make our xmas cards with and ran out of Mono *gasp* I found some but paid dearly for it. So now I have about 15 refills on hand at all times!
You will have to scan your cards so we can see what you "sweated" over.

Now I'm home and happy to be among ALL my supplies in my nice cool basement. And the temperature dropped to the low 70's, so definitely not too hot, LOL!
I spent time running errands to buy stuff to make roomate gifts for convention and managed to get one set of swap cards done! The other one with the heat embossing is almost done...that Iridescent Ice EP is going to be a real squeaker though! I think I might have something similar that I can use instead...it looks exactly the same and might as well use it up!
Tonight I'll finish up my swaps and start on my gifts. Then if I get those all done I can do another set of swaps...oh my!
Room mate gifts? What are we talking here? you were my hero 2 days ago Jan, making me stop worrying about my swaps, now I have a whole new stress. Can you tell this is going to be my first convention?
So, what happened to, Just 100 swaps and I'm done with it? How many does this make? Now roomy gifts....oh, the drama of being in your shadow...... :? Ok, where's my cutter.......and my mono......and my ideas...........................how many more days?
