she doesnt state this withher ebay but everyone I know who has ordered from her has gotten them. The perks add upa nd make her deals better. HTH

I have had my Cricut now for a few weeks. I am wondering does the Cricut do chipboard? I would love to try it but don't want to hurt my machine. Has anyone tried using like empty cereal box cut down to size.. Would that work? Thanks.

I've had mine a year now, I never tried cereal box or super thick paper, I would wait until someone else says Yes, they have done it!!!
I am real concerned about keeping mine in good working condition (I paid top dollar a year ago, now they are $129.00, uurrrgggghhh)

I have done cereal and cracker boxes see my earlier post #25. You have to repeat the cut by hitting load paper and then repeat cut that is the only way to ensure the cut is in the same exact place you have to cut about 2-3 times to cut through. Coasters 3 times and still might not cut the last layer of paper on the bottom I posted directions and pictures earlier in this thread.

Smile Cricut Ink Cartridges

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this -- but does anyone know anything about the new cricut ink cartridges??? My sister just called me from Florida and just found them at her local HobbyLobby and is very excited to try them. Apparently you take the blade piece out place the ink cartridge in and you can print your design/image rather than cut it. Sounds awesome!! Anyone try these yet? Do they work well??

TIA

Yes, Smattos. I think the "markers" are great. The new pastel colors are supposed to be out shortly. I purchased a second bug from QVC in May that offered the basic crayons or markers. I bought it not knowing that it wasn't the ebug. But that was okay, it came with different cartridges and I sold my first one.

I also saw the Paper Dolls cartridge displayed at the Scrapbook Expo in socal a couple of weeks ago using the markers. We made a pirate ship that initially we drew, then replaced the marker with the blade and cut it out. It really helped it to pop off the reading incentive chart that I was using it for. Hope you are able to get some and EXPLORE!

What are you sticking?? I use my Xyron for letters and things that have intricate cuts. Otherwise, I use my mono, MonoAqua, or tacky tape. The Tacky Tape is great for boxes and bags.

Default Cricut Markers

People keep asking about the markers:
These post # refer to This thread Cricut Chatter in fall 2007

post #3131 is about using the markers on vellum and acetate
post # 2891 shows the two cards I have made so far. using the markers and has links to them.

I think that is all that is posted about markers so far. There is more on the cricut Message board at cricut.com! HTH

Ok I'm a little lost which came first the Cricut Expressions or the Cricut Personal. And did the tags, bags, boxes come out with the personal or when the Expressions came out.
Just trying to figure out if its better to have the Expressions with the cart tags, bags, boxes or it will be fine with the Personal.
What's final size of a box on the personal.

he purse is about 3x3, I hope that helps if you're looking for something larger you really need the expression. with a 12X24 mat other wise you're not going to get much bigger withthe 12x12 mat becasue it is quite long on the 6X12 mat.
I hope that helps

I found out about creativeexpress.com on another thread and thought I would post here...maybe I missed an earlier one already as I skimmed through....
Anyway they have many cartridges on sale for $27 each if you add 4 to your cart!!
As a brand new Cricut owner, this was a great way to start my cartridge collection....I got 5 carts for $145 including shipping!!

Now, if I can only figure out how to keep my SU CS from shredding in some spots...mainly small corners.

Wonderful!! Join us on our other thread, too, where we share ideas, answer questions, and just have some Cricut fun!!! This thread is more of a FAQ thread only. Would love to have you come on over and say hi!

Default Cricut

I finally bought one! Only $119 at Walmart of all places!!

WOHH HOO! Can't wait to try and *decide* what of my sizzix stuff to sell off and what of the cricut to buy. I plan to keep the sizzix machine since it cuts through the heavier stuff like cardboard.

I love all the tips on this tread. I do have a question if you want to cut tags at different sizes on the same piece of paper can you do that?

Still such a newbie!

Hugs,

Loretta

Question cricut machine

My DH just ordered me a Cricut yesterday (as my Xmas gift) after seeing the advertizement of TV. He went on the internet to get more information and ordered by phone (we are in Montreal). On both (site and TV) it mentionned that the sarter kit was free but when he ordered they told him that he had to pay an extra 19.95 for it (which he did).Is this fair????
I am really excited but worried - I am a Cuttlebug fan, I hope I will like the Cricut!!!

Not sure if this is the correct place to post - I am on the fence with the expression, but I have a cartridge question. Is there a cartridge that makes an oval shape besides the George cartridge? And I am looking for an oval shape without a hole for a tag. Also - can you place a piece a precut card size piece of cardstock on the mat and cut a circle, square, oval, etc. in the front of the card in a precise place? I guess what I am asking is will I be able to do that like I do with a hand punch in the lower right corner (For instance) of a card? Make sense??

Ooops...my link to CHEAP cartridges was spelled wrong:

www.creativexpress.com

They have quite a few for $27 each if you buy 4. Great for those of us who had only ONE to start with!

Has anyone had problems w/ SU cards stock ripping or really sticking to the mats. Any suggestions to make it easier to use.

Yeah, in fact I was so upset at mine when I first got it because of this problem. I ended up scraping off all of the glue on the mat and using a repositionable spray adhesive - it works MUCH better.

Default Crciut and watercolor paper

I found this tip on the cricut MB and love it
Use watercolor paper (I use 140lb) it is just like chipboard and the fun part is you can either cut out a PP of the same design and glue it on top or paint, chalk distress the watercolor paper. this paper is thick and yet it will cut with your bug and gives the same look as chipboard

Some of the new mats are over sticky and PC is replacing them... They were trying to improve them so they would last longer and something went wrong...just call PC and they will replace them for you.

I had followed a link yesterday I believe from scs and they had cartridges for about $40, but I can't find it today. It was late last night and I forgot to save it. My mom got a cricut for Christmas and I want her to buy more cartridges----he-he. Can anyone help me? Thanks!
