I was very unhappy with the way these things stamped ... the ink doesn't stick to them at all (very uneven, almost like they're oily) and it's hard to get a clear image. I am returning all of mine tomorrow. I"ll stick with wood mounted.

I was having problems too until someone told me to lightly sand the image. It worked really well!
the clear stamps look very cute. but how well do they stamp. are the images crisp.

O.K., I have now tried the eraser method and they are better ... but still not as good as SU stamps. I"ll try the versamark, too, and see if that improves them even more. I will keep them. I'm such a sucker for stamps hahaha (not to mention $2.93/gallon for gas to drive to Michaels -- I have to put premium in my car only, it's a pain!!).

Not having seen or used these particular stamps, I cannot judge their quality. However, it is not unusual for clear stamps to repel water-based dye inks.
They tend to work best with pigment or chalk inks.
And, the advice of removing any factory residue or roughing up the surface with a white eraser is very helpful!
I'd be hesitant to actually sand any stamp, clear or rubber, however, for fear of damaging the surface . . .

BTW, out of curiosity I did a google on these particular stamps . . . bidding on Ebay evidently starts at $2.49 or you can buy it now for $3.99 + $1.50 S & H . . . yadda yadda . . .

I've been checking our store daily.
As another Michaels employee I can tell you that nearly all of the stores are going through a 'reset' in their Arts & Crafts dept. Last week Jolee's were 40% off to clear them out, this week it is rubber stamps. Corp. is making room for all new merchandise.
Part of which our store already has in - DieCutsWithAView paper and albums called Once Upon A Time. Gorgeous paper!
Another thing coming in May is the Martha Stewart line. She's getting into scrapbooking and stamping.
$1 stamps come in a bunch of boxes and they just get dumped into the bin. We don't know until we scan the barcode on the box what is inside. Traditionally, we've not carried 'Easter' stamps. A couple of years ago we had an easter egg stamp in with the spring ones.
Since I teach scrapbooking/stamping at our store, receiving tries to let me know asap so I can get mine to plan for classes. As soon as I know - you'll know :-)
I noticed also yesterday that Micheal's had a $5.00 and $7.00 bin with rubber stamps. I FOUND A NICE GRADUATION STAMP. When I got to the register it rang in at $3.00. I might be going back today to look at more.

When I was at M's yesterday, I drooled over that DCWV paper. Alas, I have no use for it, but I did buy a couple of sheets that had a generic background to use for a travel album I'm working on. It rang up on sale too.Yipee!! I may go back this week and get more.
My M's had the clear dollar stamps, and I picked up about 8 packs of them. No Easter, though.

I sincerely hope that Micheals is NOT going to discontinue other lines on the assumption that people will buy the Martha Stewart stuff. Her presentation at CHA left a lot to be desired apparently.
Not sure which MN Michael's you are close to. I stopped by the one in Minnetonka, at 394 and Hopkins Crossroads, this afternoon and found lots of clear stamps. But I was at the Crystal location (Bess Lake Road) last night and didn't find any dollar stamps- even the wood mounted ones.

While you're there - check out the clearance bin. I'd seen someone else mention the $3 and $5 wm stamps. I came home with some. Grrrr. We actually had $3, $5, and $7 stamps.
Take your time, scatter them across the floor and have fun! :-)

Mine had a few springy flower ones but they were pretty generic and could be used for anything. We still don't have the clear ones. I went to Syracuse to AC Moore the other day and their dollar stamps aren't cute. There may have been one or two in there but definitely wasn't worth the trip. But our Michaels too has stamps on 3, 5, and 7 dollar clearance and is clearing the shelves. We'll see what comes in it's place (and when!)
