Julie,
I would like an itinerary. I was planning on coming around 3. Will we be making the swaps there or having them ready to swap.
I know that we are having a few demonstrations and make and takes.
What time will these be?
What other activities are being planned?
Thank you
Sheila
Also, I think someone mentioned a donation to the church. Any news on this, or is it included in the event fee?
Lori

Hang in there everybody. I hope to have an agenda and details by tomorrow the 24th. Still waiting to hear back from a few people.
Thanks for your patience.
Hey ladies,
Let me answer a couple of the questions that have been asked. First off, there is a soda machine there on the premises. It is a Pepsi machine so if you are a Pepsi drinker you're in. It's $1 a soda.
Second, there will be a donation jar there, if anyone would like to make a donation. It's not a must, but it is something that if you want to say thank you to the church for letting us meet there, that's fine.
Third, I need to know if you are bringing children and ages and how many. Please PM me with this info. I want to make sure that we have enough people in the nursery. Also, if you can spare a couple of dollars to help with compensating the workers that will be great.
Fourth, if you are coming from the south, you can take the Alameda exit and travel down Alameda about 4 or 5 miles and you are there. It will be on the right hand side of the road. Turn in there and drive down and around to the back of the building.
If you are coming from the north, it might be quicker to take the 6th Avenue east exit and then get off at the Sheridan exit from 6th. Make a left there and travel down to Alameda and then make another left. Go about 1-1/2 blocks and you will see a big brick building on the left, turn in there drive to the back of the building.
Also, we are trying to determine all that is taking place by the numbers that we are expecting. I know that Julie is setting up having demos, but we will also have swaps, cards for the troops, get to know everyone time, and I think even a time that we can just work on some of our own stuff. If you have any other ideas, let either Julie or myself know and then we can discuss this and get it planned. Since there are people coming and going throughout the day, we are not trying to have it structured so tight that if someone shows up or has to leave it will mess things up.
We will be getting more info to you regarding bringing your own cutter, scissors, mono adhesive, extra stamp pads in case we need them for the demos, etc. Don't panic on this, please. We will have the info ready for you soon.
Does anyone have Stipple Shells that we can use for one of the demos at the gathering? I will need 2-4 extras. Also, I will need extras on Creamy Caramel, Mellow Moss and Choolate Chip stamp pads. Let me know if you can bring any of these items to the gathering. Just PM me. Thanks.
I was just going through my SUSisters mail and came across a post about a stamper girl convention any way I really liked one of their contest ideas and thought it would be great for this event.
It was a name tag contest. I was thinking we could do this same thing at our event. Using SU Products. making sure our SCS user name is on it as well as our real name. That way we can all make our own name tags prior to arriving and we could have a mystery name tag judge whose tag is the best and give a small prize for that.
Mia,
Julie and I were thinking of having everyone work on one there with their name and SCS name on it and then we would make it into a contest, as well. However, if the majority wants to make it in advance I am sure that would be okay too. I know that Julie went and bought plastic name tag holders for it. And we were wanting to separate everyone into groups based on the color background of their name tag...however, maybe we can get small stickers and then put them in a corner of the plastic cover.
The measurements for the plastic cover are 2-1/4 by 3-1/2.
What does everyone think about this. PM with your preference. To make there or before we get there???
Robyn, I may have some of those stamp pads to use but I'm away on business this week so I won't be able to check my stash until I get back this weekend. I'll let you know for sure then.
Mia, I like the idea of the nametags, but here's a new twist I thought might be fun. What if everyone makes their own beforehand, and tries to make it with things they identify with/like, and puts them in a basket when they arrive. Then we each draw one out of the basket, and guess who that person is?! Since there are so many of us that have never met, that would be fun to try and guess who everyone is. Plus, it would be a good way to really put a face with each name as we all see each person get "named". What do you all think?
We are off to Disney World on Mon., so that should help pass the time.

I just wanted to let you know I am not sure I will be able to attend this event due to family situation. We just returned from Disney World yesterday. This morning, I found out my 41 year old brother is scheduled for a scope & lung biopsy today. He has a spot on his lung and has lost 50 lbs. in the last 2 months. In addition, my 83 year old Grandma had a cancerous lump removed from her breast 2 weeks ago. She was admitted to the hospital yesterday, with possible pneumonia (sp?). She isn't doing too well today.
I may need to travel to Illinois, depending on how things go in the next couple days. Sorry if this causes any inconvenience to anyone.
When it rains, it pours! I would appreciate any prayers, thoughts, juju, pixie dust you could send our way. I am really worried about my Mom, as she seems like she is ready to break from all the stress of this.

Julie, how will the swaps work? (I've never been to one of these mass gatherings with swaps before.) How many cards will we have to bring? Any clarification you can lend would be appreciated. Thanks much!
You bring as many swaps as there is people coming. So as of right now 35. Then you just exchange cards with everyone. They will need to be full cards for this event. So in the end you will end up with 35 different cards!
Does that help?
