Arrow Colorblocking {Jan 26, 2007} SBTC51

Scrappy Ladies!

It is Friday (well almost) and time to pull out that scrampin stuff! Are you ready to party?!

Today's technique challenge is going to be together with our sketch challenge so you all can get two for the price of one... We are going to do some

Colorblocking!!!!
wow that took a long time to type!

Colorblocking is done by piecing your favorite pictures together in a layout and then adding different colors (or blocks ;) ) in the empty space. We got this idea from this months issue of Creating Keepsakes. One of the sketches is from there too. Thanks to Darcy in all her hard work in getting great sketches for us to use.

Tomorrow I will post my finished page. Whoever posts theirs before me will get a prize!

Here is a link to the sketch challenge:

Hopefully you are all on a roll after VSBN!

Have fun- Can't wait to see what you group of talented ladies come up with!

Sheri

This was a fun one to do for my Dad's scrapbook.

Great way to use up some small pieces of patterned and/or stamped paper too.;)

Only had a single photo that my Aunt had sent me, thought it belonged in my Dad's book. So this worked great.

Thanks for the challenge.

I see that I have stray c/s on the one page when I took the picture - those little pieces run around on me!

Here is my example. I used patterned paper as the blocking instead of solid colored cardstock.

Here's my colourblocking page... I didn't use the sketch for this week because I was already working on this page when you announced the theme! Good timing on that one!

I don't love this page, as I find it a bit busy... but overall I'm happy with it. TFL!

That is pretty funny that you had already started working on the theme challenge as soon as I posted it. I didn't realize that you were another stalker hiding there! I love the layout you used- what a fun page!

Good job Peggy and Mary for getting your challenges done before mine was posted. I went shopping for your little prize tonight at Ben Franklin so it will be in the mail to you two in the next day or so. You two are pretty speedy!
