Who all in Canada belongs to the RAK group?
I just recently joined and was wondering if you find it easier to mail just to Canada RAK members or do you extend to the US?
I just want to be sure that I am going about it the right way. I don't mind mailing to the US.
Any RAK feedback from Canadians would be helpful.
Thanks.

I am a member of the active RAK. I do my RAKs via the challenges. I don't really care what the geographical location is except for overseas loations. I find the postage is extremely expensive so I tend to shy away from those. For example, the last time I sent something to the UK the postage was $8. Not really worth it when you consider the cost of the contents. It's unfortunate.
Postage the the US is very affordable.

I belong to Wish Rak and am on the Birthday RAK committee. The last couple of months I have had to send cards overseas and it was under $2 for each of them (Scotland, Australia) I usually send 5-6 BRAK's each month, usually just within NA. Try to keep your over the border cards flat and within min. weight and you won't have to pay any extra postage than the .95 minimum
When I wishRAK someone in the states I usually try to find someone who has 2-3 or more wishes that I can fullfill, the postage is cheaper to send a bunch of stuff to one person than one wish to a bunch of people.
...I like the WishRAK group because it is mandatory that they let you know, and the list know, that the items have arrived - whereas with the Birthday Rak many do not even bother with a TY and I never know if the card made it to its destination or not. :-( I know that the lack of courtesy makes a lot of the girls who send out cards very disheartened at times, so everyone please remember to send a short PM to thank whoever sent you a RAK.

btw...I am in Perth County, SW ON near Stratford

Signed up this morning. I live just west of Toronto, in the City of Brampton. It looks like I might have to get in on these RAK's. Although right now I am finding it hard just keeping up with all of my SCS Penpals.

Hello all I am from Calgary here. Nice to hear about all the craft stores out there also the ones online, I'm going to have to pm people to find out where their favorite stores are. Mine use to be paper arts until they sold it to pursue other ventures and now I shop at paper pastimes on Elbow Drive. They are a complete card making stamping store and very nice to boot. well that's it for now, I hope you all have a great day.
I live in Oakville, ON and there is a cute little store called "The Inkspot" in our downtown area. They used to have on-line shopping (sorry gals), but they stopped that because they had to purchase a certain amount of stock from particular suppliers. They carry lots of great stamps and their prices are very reasonable. I know they will ship anywhere (customer pays of course). The website is www.inkspotshop.ca (I think). You can call them and see if they can get whatever you are looking for.

I have GOT to get to Calgary. My brother and sil live there, and I've been wanting to visit them AND go shopping. I think that I found Paper Pastime's website once, though, and found that they had a bunch of stuff that I've been looking for.
Now if I could just figure out when to take that other week of vacation...

Paper past times website does not do this place justice. The owner Carol is quite nice and is quite knowledable in the things she sells. Right now she's into amuse stamps and she has a lot of it but she also has tons of other things as well.If you are planning to come down try doing it when she has her free demo days, it's funny because you think you know a lot of stamping techniques but then she ends up one upping you. That and she makes great suggestions for example I was a neewbie quite a while ago and I wanted to try the poly shrink paper, she asked me some questions and then she told me right out that I wasn't to that level yet and to try a certain thing out first, ( can't remember what that was ) Anyways I was kinda put out but then you know what she was right . I would have not enjoyed it and probably given up at that. What she suggested turned out awesome then gradually she helped me get better and finally polyshrink lol. which I might say I did enjoy. Anyways now that I got out of topics. It's a cute little store with awesome paper , the japenese paper is cool and well it's cool. I should get some money for this, I sound like a typing bill board lol. PM me if you are coming down , maybe we can swap some ideas , and if you like template type cards I have tons of them. Have a great night ladies.

I am from Oakville! I try to visit at least once a year. The ink spot is very cool!
Although I am from Burlington, I love the Inkspot in Oakville too and have attended several of their classes. Their prices are terrific! Maybe we have met in person and didn't know it.
I am in Calgary, and I love the idea of this thread!
I have also lived in Victoria; Vancouver; Pelly Crossing, YT; Whitehorse; Montreal and Vankleek Hill, ON (halfway between Montreal and Ottawa, just outside of Hawkesbury).
Some of those places will probably mean something to a few people;)
ONe question for those in Eastern Ontario / Quebec - any idea where I can buy a Mini Ungava snowsuit? I've bought them at L'Aubenerie, but I don't have one of those in Alberta:( When I was in Ottawa in January, I had one free day for shopping, so I drove 2 hours to the nearest store and they were closed for the day to get ready for their big after Christmas clearance sale:(
They are absolutely, without a doubt, the best snowsuits, and I need one for my DS. Last year we had snow in Calgary on Sept 15, so I need to be prepared soon.
Wenchie I want to come to the Wpg meet and greet but am not sure where to sign up. I posted in the Get Together Forum too! Are we suppossed to make all three kinds of cards or one of the three groups. I'd like to make just a wow card myself as I can't imagine making multiples of the Trifold or the purse and I kinda like just letting my stamping mojo flow. Are we only suppossed to use SU stuff?? I'm not sure I could handle the limit! ;) Details!! Where do I find detaisl!!

I go there too from Scarborough. Her prices are great and she carries a selection that I can't get at my LSS. I also have her discount coupon booklet so I get my percentage off purchase or free cardstock. Everytime I've been to her store though, I'm the only one in there...LOL!!!
