Nancy, that paper sounds so cool! I wanna touch it! Can you stamp on it and get a clean impression? Can you bring me a small scrap in Feb.?? LOL.

Diane,

It stamps just like paper. Solid stamps aren't completely solid due to the texture, but edges are crisp and clean.
PM me your address and I'll mail you off a sheet.

Boy, I've really opened up a can of worms now... I can't seem to find a source for cut sizes of the Soft Touch paper. I have free samples that I use, but that is not an option for other stampers.
I'll put out some feelers to other companies that sell other Curious papers to see if they can put it in their product line and I'll keep you all posted.
Here's a teaser... this is a link to a website where a designer is RAVING about this paper.

If anyone puts in a group order to get some of this paper, let me know! Also, does anyone have a piece of the SU copper that they can scan in so I can see if I can find a match for this paper. I do not have this paper and really want to make a match for it.

I did a quick google but it does look difficult to find. Good luck with your contacts, Nancy!

It looks like it comes in 3 colors? Creme Brulee, Milk, and Whipped Cream. It sounds so yummy! LOL.

Thank you Lisa C!! I ordered a bunch of the paper from Cut Cardstock on Tuesday and it arrived today! The Curious Cryogen White-89lb is an exact match to SU Shimmery White. I've been telling my demo that I wish SU sold an Shimmery Ivory, so I took a chance and ordered the Poison Ivory and it is beautiful. When you compare it to SU altra smooth Ivory, it looks like it is the same paper but "shimmered". Beautiful! I may never use plain white/ivory paper again! I ordered for myself and two friends, and was pleasantly surprised when our order came to exactly $125 and we received free shipping!
Thanks again Lisa. This is one great example of what makes this site so wonderful.

I just received a small piece of the copper from Linda. It does NOT match anything in the Curious line of papers. I have their swatchbooks that contain a sample of all the colors from each "line" of papers they carry.
It does however match exactly to something in the Reich Paper SHINE collection. They call it copper (who'd a thunk?). I think the Pearl color may be the match for Shimmery as well. I'm not 100% sure though. I wish I had gotten a small swatch of it from Linda, but we forgot.
You can purchase from them directly online, but it isn't much cheaper unless you buy 100 sheets and share with a few friends. Check it out for yourself.

Shine Copper 107# Cover 8.5x11-100 sheets - Price: $ 47.95 / each

Shine Copper 107# Cover 8.5x11-20 sheets - Price: $ 15.95 / each

Here is the website... http://www.reichpaper.com/store/index

I never did locate a source for the curious TOUCH paper in cut sizes. Sorry to get everyone all worked up over it. The only way to purchase would be from a paper merchant in full cartons of sheets that come in sizes like 20 x 26 inches. It's shareable by groups of maybe 20 or so?? But you have to see it to know you'd want it. So again, sorry to talk about something that is unavailable to the general population.
I guess I should be very grateful for the free samples I get.

I don't know if this will help or not, but you guys have me dreamy over paper.
I know Xpedx down here sells papers. I know specifically they sell Curious. I just bought some earlier in the year for a print project. I can call/go and find out if they have the touch line everyone is so interested in. If you'd like me to.

Went to my Kelly Paper today and they had the Curious Metallics Gold Leaf for $15.41 for 50 sheets. With tax it was $16.31. No shipping, so that's nice! They didn't have the Galvanized. But I was just happy to get the Gold Leaf because I needed it to help a friend with a 50th Anniversary project and I didn't have time to order any from SU! or Cut Cardstock.

I ventured out and found Xpedx today. They didn't have the white shimmery, but I did find some cool pewter shimmery paper that was 1/2 off. I got 50 sheets for about $12.50. It is really pretty! I also got some padded envies that were half off and roamed the store for about an hour. She said she couldn't get the curious white shimmery or the touch line. Oh well...

Has anyone found the curious paper in any stores? It would be great to be able to go and buy it tomorrow instead of ordering online.

I have a question about XpedX that maybe one of you could answer for me? I just found out there is one in Boise! Who knew? But it isn't a store, it's a division. Does anyone know if I can buy retail at a division? Or do those of you with XpedX have stores instead?

Amy.... I'm pretty sure you cannot buy directly from the division. That is like a "home office" for customer service for companies to purchase from them. They may have samples for you to see, but not anything they can sell you.
I purchase for a paper company from our local XpedX division, but they just order if for me from their warehouse or from a paper mill directly.
They also have stores that stock for retail and for smaller print shops. That is what you are looking for. I'm sure the someone at the division could tell you where the closest retail store is though!!

GREAT NEWS! I found both Gold-Curious Metallics Gold Leaf-92lb and the Silver-Curious Metallics Galvanized-92lb in my local paper store. They have it in packs of 250. I am willing to share for only $10/50 sheets plus postage, if I get four other buyers for each color. Please pm me and let me know which color you would like (or both!)

OK, it is a little pricey but not too bad. I found a company that sells it and will cut it to 8 1/2 x 11 (for a $5 cutting fee). This is the 111 lb. paper. If we order 26 or more of the full size sheets then the price per sheet is a little cheaper and the handling charge is less. (There is a $10 handling fee) I fiured that it will cost $99.24 total for 260 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11. That is roughly 39 cents a sheet.

Nancy & Linda, are either of you interested in going together to get some? Do you know of anyone else? We could split it when we get together in February.

I am thinking we could split it into 10 portions- (26 sheets in each portion).

I would want 2 portions and my friend Linda would want 1. That leaves 7 more.

I'm guessing that the most you can get from full size is 9 out, not 10. But maybe I'm wrong. Does it include shipping as well?
Will you just be getting the white color or the cream color as well??
I'm not sure how much I still have at home right now. I'll have to look and let you know.

Hi Lisa and every one involved in this topic...thanks so much for doing all of this research...I missed this topic the first time around as I am a Newbie and hadn't grasped the benefits of lurking at SCS...I was just about to break down and finally place an order with SU for the shimmery white even though I thought it was really expensive...but, alas...now I have a great source for all of these papers...am getting the sample pack of the metallics, also...they look gorgeous...again, thanks for sharing with us!

I might be interested in some of the soft touch paper. Did I read where there are three colors total? Which colors are you thinking of ordering?

I'm sure with all the gals following this thread it wouldn't be difficult to get takers. Let me know what colors you are considering and what the cost would be. Right now I'm about to place my SAB order so my funds are a bit tight. Ha!!! Thanks, Janice
