I love crystal effects. I use it instead of modpodge to attach my papers onto chipboard. It works wonderfully. I used it today to add dimension and gloss. Here is my card:

Wheeee! I love CE, although I use it as glue more than embelishment. It is hella sticky!

I don't have CE so used Aleene's Paper Glaze which says its for dimensional designs and laminating and that it dries to a glass like finish.
This poor card nearly ended up in file 13 several times!

I love using crystal effects, but even when I'm careful to clean the tip, it clogs up for me. So...I use toothpicks to apply to small areas like on the windows of this card:
