Got a 50% off coupon in the newspaper flyer. Went to Michaels only to see a hand written sign stating you CANNOT use coupon on Cuttlebug, dies, and embossing folders! What a ripoff. I feel if the coupon DOESNT specify that, why should they be able to stick up a hand made sign. I have been getting all my cuttlebug stuff for 40% off up to today. Was going to get another alpha. So frustrating-
Anyone else who plans on getting one where there isn't a specification better RUN! Even those on the fence-
My coupon specifically says it cannot be used on Cricut products, but I think what most employees at Mike's don't understand is that the CB is NOT a Cricut product, just made by the same people. I do believe someone suggested eariler (Jan maybe?) that they just TRY scanning in the coupon. If they're aren't supposed to take it, the computer won't allow it.

The same thing happened to me with the 40% coupons......but the Joanns in my area let me use it for an alpha set, when Joanns.com dosn't!! Go figure....They will end up losing money if they dont let us get them with coupons.
Well, that is just plain NOT RIGHT! I thought we lived in a free country! Do they think they can take away our right to Cuttlebug at 40% off? Do they know who they're messing with????
Write your congressman/woman! Storm the stores! Demand justice! Life, liberty, and the pursuit of Cuttlebugging!
<men in white suits have just entered my room and are taking me away---help! bring along the Cuttlebug!>
Wow, must be a management thing. I used a 50% off coupon the other night for an alpha, and one this afternoon for another die. Methinks there's some confusion out there...

I think after the holidays when they aren't so new, we'll see sales for at leat 30% off of all Cuttlebug stuff. The Cricut has already been that way for a while......why do they expect patience of us??
Rumor has it that Provocraft has a better Cricut coming out at CHA at the end of January; it will be more like the Wishblade and will connect directly to your computer. So expect prices on the Cricut to come down sharply soon...they'll be selling off the excess stock to make room for the new one.

Yeah it stinks-it wasn't on the coupon it was a hand written sign. Mikes has taken the coupons, and I'm POSITIVE it would scan, but because they had a "sign" it wasn't allowed. I almost ripped it down! LOL!

Oh brother. I didn't read the part about the sign being hand-written. Lordy. Go back and rip it down!!! We'll be cheering you on!!! ;)

I'm kinda scared 'cuz Sizzix is revamping everything that I wouldn't be able to get this stuff anymore. I just had to buy it now. Plus, they're so cheap at www.creativexpress.com and www.sizzix.com that I saved a ton of money....spent some, yes, but saved more.

I've heard that rumor too . . . it'll be interesting to see what comes of it. There's gonna be a riot on the Cricut board of this is actually true since the current Cricut is still so new . . . geesh! it hasn't even been out a whole year yet.
It seems there's such a rush to introduce *new* or *improved* tools or techniques that we don't seem to get to really enjoy what we've got before we're told we need something new.

I've also heard that the current Cricut will be computer-capable--that's the supposed reason for the USB port on the back of the thing. I think Provo Craft would do itself a disservice if they came out with a totally new Cricut so soon--I think many consumers would turn away from a company that did that. This type of thing takes awhile in development, so I think a 'new Cricut' would have already been in the works when the original Cricut was introduced--a bad way to do business, IMO.
Lisa I agree with ya 100%. Seriously, I'll be pretty ticked if they do introduce a new Cricut. I've also heard they're going introduce 12 new cartridges at CHA . . . now that's one rumor (heard it on the Cricut board) that I hope is true!!
I got four sets of CB dies: Charms, Sliders, Wavy Squares and Tiny Tags for $12.49 plus $5.00 in shipping. That's $4.38 a piece...a lot better than the $12.99 I'd pay at Michael's.
I tell ya, New Years Eve is a great time to bid on Ebay because everyone is out celebrating, LOL! I tried to bid on the same selection two days ago and got outbid...the ending bid was $27.01...I'm so glad I lost that one!
I received a 40$ gift card from my boss for Xmas, so I went yesterday here in Delaware to the Michael's and yes, I got the Bug for free!! I had a 50% coupon, and the guy at the register did let me use it, so my money card paid for the little bug!! Haven't tried it yet though, as I live in Maryland, and won't be going home til tue, but even better is the fact that Delaware doesn't have any sales tax, so I saved there too!!! I pray the little guy doesn't break or something, as it seems alot of people prefer the big shot, but I'm gonna give the bug a try!! Karen.
Ladies you better get your cutterbug soon at michaels with the 50%off coupon. The supervisor said that the will start excluding them from that promotion after the 2 day New Year sale.
Know anything else on this one? As in, are they only excluding the Cuttlebug itself, or does this mean we can't use the coupon on dies, etc? This is a seriously sad moment.
Amy, I'm so glad to hear you say that!! Now, explain to me how the little guy works!! I've never used one, and I make mostly cards!! I have no idea what to do with the little guy!! I bought an embossing kit, the little corner ones, but not sure what to even do with it!! TIA!! Karen
Please disregard... saw other posts after posting that... I am going to Mikes tomorrow to find out what's going on! I haven't had any trouble so far with using my coupons, but this could be the end of our happy party. Just seems so silly to me- why have the coupon if we can't use it on the stuff we want?

Karen, you should check out the Cuttlebug Sandwich Stacks thread and download the chart there. It tells you how to use all brands and kinds of dies and embossing folders. And the Gallery here has *so* many gorgeous Cuttle cards!
My Mike's hasn't said anything. I lucked out and one of them near me is closing so everything in the store is 30% off and they included my cuttlebug stuff. I also used two 50% off at another store for my alphabets.
I ended up getting Olivia for $41 with shipping included on ebay last week. Now I"m waiting for it to arrive.
I admit it, I'm greedy. I need more Cuttlestuff! So here's my wishlist. What's on yours??
Folders
1-Paisley--I mean really, why did they not think of this already?!?
2-Diamonds--similar to Print Pattern, or smaller, but definitely a diamond pattern
3-Plaid
4-Stripe
Die Cuts
1-Words!
2-Holiday sets--it would be even better if they included words! For example, a Valentines set that includes the words "love" and "Happy Valentines Day," along with maybe a heart/arrow thing, or the words "hugs and kisses"
3-Large scalloped shapes--all our favorites: oval, circle, square. oooh, what about a big scalloped heart?? In layerable sizes
4-Big shapes that are not concentric. Maybe I'm clueless, but those aren't terribly versatile to me.
Amy, check out Ellison's texture plates...the Big Shot starter kit comes with a paisley plate, a diamond plate, a checks, stripes....oh. That was enabling, wasn't it? Darnit! Back to Al-anon for me I guess...

Now it's your turn! What else do you want?
Oh, absolutely Paisley!
An embossing folder that makes cardstock look like Bazill!
Something like On the Spot background

So far, I have not even been tempted--I think because I know I can't get a Wizard kit for awhile. <sigh> But I'm sure if I go look, well, we all know what will happen.
