I just saw this in an idea book. They hung a 12 x 12 hanging file folder on a pegboard using a hook at each end of the hanger part. This could also be done without a pegboard by simply hanging from 2 nails spaced the correct distance apart or if you don't have a lot of templates and it won't be too heavy you might be able to get away with using push pins. The Folder had been covered with designer paper which would work wonderfully for those of you making your own hanging folders. Or if you have the plain white ready made ones you could stamp up your own design. I am definitely going to use this idea because I've got several large templates that are a difficult size to store.
