Default Is this waterbrush ok from Michaels?

Hi all...

Hope your evening is going well...

I wanted to try out the waterbrushes I read so much about...i got the one from Michaels: NIJI waterbrush in Mini 12mm. It has a pink cap and blue penbody. Is this a good one? I haven't opened it..thought I'd check with you!

And also, I take this waterbrush and dip it on the stamp pad and colour away, correct? If i change colours, just wipe the bristle tip and dip in another colour?

Thanks!

I bought the one from Michaels once and it was an absolute piece of junk. Used it twice, it wrecked everything I was trying to work on ... threw it out and bought the SU ones, which are awesome. I found that the Michaels ones had no way to control the water that was coming out, so it was always too wet. In my opinion, I say take it back and buy from SU ... maybe someone else has had better luck?

I like the Niji waterbrushes. It should work just fine.

I don't usually put my waterbrush right on the stamp pad, because it worries me about getting water on them. Instead, I either get some ink on a plastic surface (like a box top) or on the lid of the inkpad, and color from there.

Yep, to change colors, just wipe the brush on a scrap of paper until it runs clean.

I LOVE my waterbrushes

I also use one and I like to scribble a bit of marker on a piece of plastic and then pick up that color with the waterbrush to paint on images. ;)

the Niji is a good brand. What you want to look for is the black piece inside. It keeps the water from coming out too quickly, and the color from getting back into your water brush. The cheaper ones are terrible, they leak. I saw the Niji at Michaels today, and I was surprised they had that type. I've gotten the cheaper ones there in the past, not good. Eileen

I love my Niji waterbrushes. I have two, one for water and one for future floorwax. I like the Niji even better than my SU brushes.

I use them with my inkpads by squishing the case together before opening the pad, the picking up the ink that collects on the lid. I also use them a lot with my water color papers and my pigment papers.

I would say my Niji brush is the one tool I use almost everytime I stamp!

Me too. As to what to use it for, future floor wax is good, bleach too. Watercolor crayons from what I hear too, and I love using it for watercolor pencils. Sat one day on a field trip and colored all my pictures with just the pictures and 3 watercolor pencils and the Niji water brush.

I guess I had a different brand from Michaels, it didnt have the black piece in it. Sounds like everyone else has had good luck with this waterbrush! Good to hear!

Yup the Niji ones are great! I got a 3 pack from HL and they were terrible! I've used both the SU ones and the Niji and I like them both equally

I use mine with my watercolor pencils as well as with the watercolor crayons For the pencils, I like to scribble a bit on a scrap piece and then pick up the color from there rather than try to color the images with the pencils and then blend. I find I get better results that way.
