TAC 1/2 off items for hostessing
Okay, I will be hosting my first ever TAC funshop next month - I just discovered their catalog and am very exciting about being able to purchase 1/2 price items. So...my question for all of you who are TAC customers or TAC angels...
Which items would you prioritize to get at the 1/2 price savings? What are the "must-haves" in this TAC catalog for someone who is new to this line? Which items are on your personal wish list?

Well, if you want the most "bang for your buck" than you should think about the full set of 120 prismacolors, or the big shot.
But, I tend to not go for the big money items- unless they are something I've really been wanting anyway- I go more for items I need that might be a little pricey. My first two half price off items were things that I had been "making do without" but really wanted.
I got the Kai Gold Scissors and the Double Scrubber. They were both more than I wanted to pay at retail, since I have scissors and a washcloth- but a GREAT price with the discount.
You could also think about purchasing one of the LARGE alphabets if you scrapbook- since the regular price is somewhat higher than the small alphabets.
Or how about a set of Tombow or Impress markers- a good value at full retail, but signifigant savings at half off.
Other things that would be great to get half off, if you need them- are the rolling craft tote, the stamp store or the scrapbook tote.
How about a half off Giga Tag punch, Tag Maker, Notch and Die Cutting Tool or Clikit?
I think the best idea is to make your wishlist and pick the most expensive item on it. Remember, it's not savings- no matter how much you "save" if you didn't really want it in the first place.
And remember, you get 50% an item just for booking, but you have the potential to earn more half price items- and if your workshop reaches the $100 level (before you add in your purchases... so get your friends to buy buy buy), you get 20% EVERYTHING you purchase up to $150!

I totally agree with Skittl1321.
If you don't have a pair of Kai Scissors, I highly recommend you add them to your "Must Have" list. They really do cut through the rubbah like buttah! :p
I generally get the more expensive stamp set with my half off, but that is how I got my Kai scissors. This last time I got Buggy Christmas 1/2 off. All their bugs are so stinkin cute!
And dont' forget that you and everyone else who spends $$ gets a free Gift With Purchase stamp for every $30 spent. Can't beat that!
Good luck and have fun with your new rubbah.

Everything Skittl1326 said! LOL You mentioned everything that I would have mentioned!!! I agree go for what you want the most - if it is a HIGH ticket item than that it great getting it for half price! If not a high priced item but something that you really and truly want than half price is great too!!! No matter what half price is half price! No matter what you decide - have a fun workshop and enjoy TAC's GREAT products!!!

Watercolor Crayons!!!
What I always recommend for a GREAT 1/2 price item choice is the largest set of Watercolor Crayons! They are fabulous - and if you get a smaller set, you will probably be sorry, cuz you'll want more colors

Skittl1321 gave you great advice. I would highly suggest Prismacolor Pencils and Kai Scissors. Both are "splurges" that I did without for awhile that I can't live without now. I also just recently purchased the Big Shot at 1/2 price. I've been wanting a die cut machine for quite awhile now and a 1/2 price bargain was just what I needed to push me over the edge.....
Have fun!

I would say to go with the Lyra crayons, because you often can't find them at craft stores where you could normally use a 40% off coupon. But get the big set, there's a real difference between that one and the next one down. Also the big Matchmakers cardstock stacks are great at half price, I use that stuff all the time and it's so wonderful to know you've got the right color cardstock right there. I also use the 1/2 off for the big paper collections and large alphas.

Yes our Workshops are sometimes called funshops.
It's just another name for them.

Most of my gals go for the Kai scissors, the 48 ct. watercolor crayons or the Matchmaker stacks. If they don't do those, then they start going through their wishlist from most expensive down. I've had one hostess purchase the Stamp Store at 1/2 price--now THAT is a bargain!!! :-) You have to make sure that you purchase what YOU will use or it's not a bargain for you at all if it just sits there.
Have a great time at your FunShop! :-)

I got the pearlescent pastels...I'm a sucker for those pretty shimmery things!
I decided that I wasn't interested in the Big Shot....I'm not into those yet and I didn't even think to look at the scissors....next time tho!!!

I got chaulks. I am kinda lame. I wish I had gotten the scissors though. Now that I have heard such wonder stores about them.
I would recommend this. Get the things that you want but would not buy yourself for one reason or another. I wanted the chaulks, but was "admittedly" to cheap to buy them.
Don't get something that you are only half interested in or don't think you will use based on the fact that they are half off. Get something that you have been denying yourself. Those are the best 1/2 price items.
Have fun, fun, fun. My first Funshop turned into me becomming a demo myself.

My favorite - the watercolor crayons are a must. And get the large set right away. The Stamp Store is another 1/2 price item I got and it is great to take to crops, workshops, and even store things at home. I use it for many of the most used items.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I was considering the scissors so I'm glad that many of you mentioned them. Didn't even think about the chalks as an option (I have other chalks from Inkadinkado and really don't like them) but I've read rave reviews about the ones in the catalog so they might also be worth a try.
Thanks again.
