Another paint can question, sorry...

I have searched the forum and looked at all of the threads about making paint cans but I just need more information, please.

I have to make a gift for my MIL for her birthday party on this Sunday. She has EVERYTHING and is the hardest person to buy for so I want to make her something. She always loves the cards that I give her so I was thinking of a set of cards in a pretty holder or something but then I thought of making a paint can but I really have no idea of where to begin and what all to put in it, etc.

I have a paint can, it is silver, from Lowes so now what???

Hi, Jimmi! There is a gallery full of paint can ideas if you're stuck on what to do with the outside, too. Marcia (suthnheart) posted a great how-to here. Download her directions, and fill that sucker up with pretty cards, a pen, some postage stamps. . . just make sure to share your finished project!

Thanks her instructions are really great. I did a search but only went back to 2005 not 2004, there are a lot of ideas, maybe too many!

I know how you feel. Sometimes the gallery is just too full of great ideas! :-) Naw, not really but it does overwhelm me at times.

I love your idea of the paint can filled with cards, envelopes, pen (beaded maybe?), postage stamps. Maybe you could decorate an address book too? Oh, and maybe a "note" book. Just a couple more ideas, if they help.
