Lisa, have you tried using the search feature? I did an advanced search on coasters and came up with a ton of threads.
When I tried that I came up with tons of coasters all the tiles.....I am unsure how to bring up just the cardboard type. I KNOW I seen a thread on this here SOMEWHERE, and I thought.....oh i will heve to try this, and now that I have the coasters i cant find the thread and am kicking myself for not marking it. Ohhhhh th insanity!

I don't know the thread you are talking about, but I did see a thing on Carol Duvall I think, the lady used a piece of CS. Painted it (only because she wanted a bright blue color for her coaster), then embossed with Glassy Glaze (or other UTEE) She did about 3 coats of this heating between each coat to melt the powder. Don't know if this is what you're looking for or not.

I also don't know the thread you're talking about, but I think I remember reading somewhere on the 'net that you can make those cardboard coasters by running them through a Xyron with a laminating cartridge.
I don't know if there was a thread but here is a pic in the gallery of someone who used a cardboard coaster to make a little book

hope this maybe helps.....
I read your thread and came to see if I could help you... but you helped me! I have been searching for the very same project idea. I saw it and then went to Chili's, got my coasters but I couldn't remember anything about how to do the project, or even what it looked like. So thanks to jlbech, and to pearlann66. This is why I love SCS!
