Default What set would you get...

... if you were signing with SU? I'm going to sign September 1 and want to get the free stamp set - one that demos well, ya know? I don't have any fall things at all and I don't want to demo anything Halloween since I still get creeped out by some of that stuff. (Not judging the holiday, but had the c$%*&@ scared out of me at a haunted house as a kid, kwim?) I've been craving Lovely as a Tree - would that be dumb to demo? I plan using City of David for our Christmas card - maybe I should get that one for free? Or maybe I should get a really pricey alpha set - although I have never seen an alpha set demo'd before....

I would get the highest price set that I really like. If you do not have to many alphabets, i would go with Headline Alphabet because it works so well on cardfronts as well as is great for scrapbooking. That or everyday flexible phrases since it is is flexible. :p

I would agree with Britta on this. Get the highest priced set that you might want and don't worry so much about demo-ability. You can always buy a lower priced set to demo with later. Besides, you get so many demo-able ones in the starter kit anyway. I'd totally go for Everyday Flexible Phrases or Headline or Letterpress. You will find lots of uses for all of them and they are quite pricey.

Britta and Dena have given you great advice.
The sets that come in the kit are great for demo-ing, and the video included with your kit and the SU! site will give you ideas for those sets.
So, you want something "different" and you want to get the most bang for your buck. Highest price sets are the alphabets and the flexible phrases.

Good luck with your choice to become a demo! You'll love it!

Get the most expensive set you like in the catalog - I would recommend 'Letterpress', 'Well Worn' or 'Headline' Alpha if you don't have those already - they would be great to demo, fun to play with too.

I think either of those would be fine too. I don't have either of them yet. But, I'd love to get Big Deal Alpha for scrapbooking. It's on my list. Amazing to Zany is really nice also. If I didn't already have EFP, I'm not sure which one of the "words" sets I'd choose . . . . I guess you'd have to decide whether it's more important to you to have all the family words (brother, sister, mother, father, etc), holiday and season words (Christmas, Halloween, spring, summer, etc) that are in Everyday Flex. Phrases or the more descriptive words that are in Amazing to Zany.

But, I think you get our idea - pick the most expensive set that you can -- well, assuming it's one you'd really like to have anyway!

I am going to suggest the EFP set for demoing and business oppertunities. I have used Everyday Flexible Phrases in EVERY workshop that I have done so far.... it works great on 6 x 6 scrapbook pages because there is a word for every occasion and they don't take up too much room on the 6 x 6 page, so you can use a bigger picture.

I love adding that tiny little word peeking out of the side of a picture or focal stamped image on a card, it seems to add so much. The other good idea is that this way, people at the workshop have a choice on whether they want to make a card that says thanks, birthday, or friend. All the words take up the same space, so you can use the same pre-cut pieces for everyone, but still show the variety avaliable, and allowing you to be flexible to suit your guests.

Words that I have used the most on Scrapbook pages... Baby, Winter, Summer, Vacation, Spring, Mother, Love, Valentine, Party, and Family.

Words that I have used the most on Cards.... Thanks, Celebrate, Father, Mother, Happy, Birthday, Special, Best, Friend, Haloween, Peace, Imagine, Dream, and Hope.

Amazing to Zany would be a good choice too, I forgot to mention that, but I just havn't gotten it yet, so I can only tell my personal experiances with the EFP set.

I like both Expressive Flexible Phrases or Amazing to Zany - they're both great and I think I'd use both of them often. I'm probably going to pick Amazing to Zany and get the other with my first workshop order.

I would get the Well Worn Alphabet. I would want to get the most bang for my buck and I think that one looks like a good one!

I have Letterpress and Brushstoke alphas. I'm not sure I really NEED another yet (so many other supplies I need first). I am contemplating Big Deal alpha though. I don't have EFP and it's been on my wish list ever since. I like the expressing and amazing to zany but am not sure what to pick. I'm also curious what people find more useful and will be following the thread.

I make a lot of name frames as gifts you have to think about what you would use the most.

I'd have to say that what everyone has said is great advice. Go for the most expensive set you can get and the one that is most versatile. I would pick Amazing to Zany if it was me because I have all the other "little word" sets but this one.

I think Everyday flexible phrases, or Amazing to Zany

Letterpress, big deal or headline

Bodacious bouquet w/brass temp. Lots of versatility.

Mostly go what appeals to you personally. If you don't enjoy a set you won't get inspired to create w/it.

I am considering the same line of thought. I was thinking Headline Alphabet would be good because it would work well with the Letter Prints and Letter Patterns. You would be able to put patterns on your alphabet. Lots of options, right?

Ack! Great responses - thanks for all the advice! I think I'll have to go with EFP and get the alpha later since I will be getting an alpha with the scrapping kit.
