Anyone know where to get 12x12 plastic storage boxes for paper?
HI,
I was wondering if anyone knew of any store, or online source, that carries the 12x12 boxes for storing patterned paper. I have a ton I'd like to organize and protect. I've seen these boxes for about $10 or so at Archiver's. They are usually clear and tinted a pastel shade. I think that price is high, and thought maybe someone had a better site or store for me to check out. I'm using the plastic 12x12 paper holders (like giant envelopes) and corners are bending, and they're STUFFED FULL. Please let me know, I appreciate it!
I was able to find some really neat drawers at Walmart that will hold 12x12 paper. It's 3 drawers per unit and they are plastic. I found them in the rubbermaid and other containers that are like section. They are great for storing things at home. Plus if you get more than one unit they stack on top of eachother. I actually have 5 units (I put other stuff in them besides paper), my DH calls it my tower of power, funny guy he is. If you want them to be able to go with you when you go scrapping at somebody's house you do have to be careful how you load them into the car as the drawers can slide open. Micheals does have a container that does stay shut though. However, it holds only one of the patterned paper slabs that Michaels sells. The Walmart draweres will hold two slabs per drawer. Hope that helps.
I have the 12x12 paper storage that SU sells and LOVE it. I strongly considered other options (and I have a couple of the 12x12 containers from Michaels) but I went w/ the SU ones and am so glad I did. I like having it all vertical - makes it WAY easier to find the paper I want - if they were just stacked in a container (or drawer) I doubt I would use my 12x12 half as much (I'm all about the convenience!! )
I bought a great paper storage cart at JoAnn and I used my 40% off coupon. It has 6 removable box type drawers that each hold tons of 12X12 card stock. It's kind of like an iris cart. If I can find one on their website, I'll post the link.

Container store carries this great 6 drawer rolling scrapbook cart that has drawers that also act as individual boxes. I recently saw the same thing at Costco for QUITE a bit less... so I finally bought one. Target.com sells the same boxes individually... at least they did last time I checked. I just saw that they had some 12x12 drawers in the store as well when I was there today... probably like what other posters have seen at wal-mart.

Oriental Trading Company has some... they are cheaper than anywhere I have seen. They have an entire scrapbooking section on their website and you can sign up for a free catalog. Happy shopping!

I have the SU storage and the flat ones from Archiver's. I love them all! I also have some really cheap storage I found at xpedx (sp?) they hold a lot more than either the SU or the Archiver's storage. They were under $3.00. They don't stand up, they lay flat and unlike the Archiver's storage the top snaps in place.
Cindy -- go to that XPedex place I told you about. Oh my gosh, my boxes were CHEAP. I think they were $3 or something. If you can't find them at yours, I'll ship them to you in a box from work, k? Gay
I use the ones from SU also. They have worked out great for me - allows me to easily see what I have, and you can buy the dividers so you can separate and label all your paper.
I just got the storage that GinaK mentioned. It is great. It is the same height as the other Iris carts, so looks nice next to the others. Each section has a container with a lid that holds the 12 x 12 paper or cardstock. It is just what I needed. I got it with a coupon. Paper is so expensive that I'm happy to have something to protect it. Eileen

I don't know if you are looking to store your paper standing up or lying down but I just got my LTD magazine yesterday and they have Magazine Organizers, like SU stand up holders Set of 5 for 6.80. Looks like five different colors.
I just bought the upright ones at Hobby Lobby the other day for $19.99 and used a 40% coupon I printed online (making the actual price $12.00). The box says it hold 400 pieces of 12 x 12 paper.
JoAnn's has all plastic storage units on sale now until 8/18. 50% off ! That's better'n a coupon for 40 %. I bought the last 14 X 14 inch Iris scrapbook case - was $4.49.

I think these are what I use. I don't have a stamp room so I need something more portable than the upright storage. I think I bought one of my 3 drawer units at Wal Mart. Then I found them at Michaels, and have bought 3 or 4 more with coupons. I keep punches in the one on the bottom. I keep paper in several. I also keep other supplies in them. I love them because they stack.

I have the same 3-drawer ones. When I go out I just take what I need and put them in those envelopes that you currently have your stuff in to fit in my crop bag.
