Default POLL: BROWN or NO BROWN????

Ok after flipping through the catty at least a dozen times I am loving the ideas, but a lot of brown and various shades of brown/rust/mustard --

I am loving brown shades with that new cranberry -- that rebecca paper for one -- but I am not usually a "brown" person, KWIM -- I usually use other colors, any ones but that color when stamping or scrapbooking and I don't even buy brown shoes or decorate with any brown, actually cringe when they use a lot in decorating shows.

Are you a BROWN person or a NOT A BROWN person?? Just for fun --

In stamping?
In scrapbooking?
In your personal life (clothing, home decor)

Not much of a brown person, either! Even though I have dark hair and brown eyes! LOL

I hate the "new" look of brown/pink..ugh! I think it looks pukey.

I don't use brown much in decorating, either.

As for crafting, I rarely use brown...usually only for masculine cards.

I like brown just as I like all colors--it works sometimes and other times not. It doesn't look good on me usually, so I don't wear it or decorate with it, but I do like chocolate brown with pastels (sorry, Sara!), red, and in outdoors-y type layouts or cards.

Hey! There's something for everyone, right? LOL Just 'cause I don't like it, doesn't mean everyone else has to!!

There are lots of other things in the catty that I like!

I didn't like brown until recently. I've seen some great examples of cards using brown. Beate's buckle card with brown and turquoise was gorgeous.

I do not however, wear brown or decorate with it. But, maybe some day.

I like brown everywhere - clothes, crafts, home decor - but not as a primary color. It's more of an accessory color, KWIM?

I am not a brown person at all ... I find it a depressing colour, it doesnt appeal to me. I did use brown in a few masculine cards I've made lately, and its okay for that ... but then again I also have a huge dislike for the colour green, no matter what shade. I think that grass and trees look wonderful in green (how silly would they look if they were purple or blue), but that's about it. Oh yes, frogs can be green too! I even asked a girl at work yesterday to look at the SU! colours (she is a green lover) and tell me which shades of green SHE thinks were the nicest, so I can choose a shade of green to buy in cardstock to do some Christmas cards. I try to sell a few cards at work every year and some people do like green!!!

What other color goes with SUNFLOWERS! Well I'm sure there are others like black for one but I do really love the brown for my sunflowers.

In reference to Trudee's statement...I eat a little brown every single day!

I LOVE brown for crafting (brown and banana; brown and pink; brown and pale green; brown and more brown)... and occasionally for clothes. Not in my home though - that's all greens and dark reds.

LOVE LOVE LOVE chocolate! Especially chocolate that comes in brown wrappers (ie, not Cadbury's!)

Love brown. Our bedroom is brown (looks like coffee with cream). I accent with a blue (close to bordering blue, just a tad bit more blue). I love brown with the pinks, blues, soft greens, yellows. As a matter of fact, my daughter is getting married in September and Chocolate Brown is her color with a dab of red.

I'm a convert to the new pink and brown (Regal Rose and Close to Cocoa) but not the orange and brown... yet! I have ventured into the turquoise and brown now but I don't have just the right stamp set for it. Guess I'll have to look through the catty again : )
I do use a lot of brown touches in my home--it is earthy and warm--baskets, natural wood, rust and maize and plum colors on the wall so brown is a natural complement to them. And I wear a lot of brown as I think it looks good with my dark brown eyes.
DITTO on the chocolate!!!! I'm staying at my mom's right now and there is not a lick of chocolate in the house... I'm dying here!!!! She's a health nut but Im ready to go sneak to the convenience store on the corner and buy myself a Frappucino and a Milky Way : )

I use brown for my autumn cards and sometimes as accent color but I can't say that I use it all of the time. It comes in handy for certain occasions and seasons. I haven't really decided if I like the brown/pink combo or the brown/turquoise combo; still on the fence about brown and anything combo!!It's interesting to read everybody's thoughts on this. Thanks for posting the poll, Pigfingers.

I like the color brown but the way it is currently being used with pinks and blues does nothing for me. It seems like not that long ago it was all the rage to do that and now it's back again. lol Oh yeah and I don't like orange and brown together which is funny because I'm a vet student at Oregon State University and our colors are black and orange and the mascot is a beaver.

Love brown with everything, afterall it is the "new black" (some major fashion trendsetters even suggest that you can even wear it with black!) I probably wear something brown 3 or 4 days out of the week in some form, tan, dark/light browns. My furniture is brown leather, my car is a caramel brown, is that TMI? ;)
As far as card making goes, I would suggest brown with almost any color, it is just beautiful.

It has so grown on me! If anyone had told me 10 years ago that the hot colors now would be brown/pink/turquoise, I would have laughed out loud! But really, are there ANY of our 48 colors that DON'T look fabulous with brown in some shade or another????? I am using it on everything I stamp! Brown with any of the pinks, brown with apricot, brown with bashful blue, brown with cameo coral, brown with burgundy, brown with saffron....., okay, maybe not purple. I answered my own question. Maybe not navy, either.
What's your favorite brown combo?

I love brown!

It's the new black to me in card making!

I have brown all over my house, in a variety of woodtones.

I have brown hair, too!

AND, I love when Mr. Brown (aka the UPS driver) comes to visit!

I LOVE BROWN!!!! I use it on cards, indecorating my home, and in my wardrobe!!! Brown is a warm rich color that doesn't seem to fade and look worn and washed out after one washing like black does in clothing.
