Scrapbooking Poems -Please add one!
I would like to collect poems that would be appropriate for use in a scarpbook. Could be any subjects. So please read mine, and add one of your own!
There's too many kids in this tub.
There's too many elbows to scrub.
I just washed a behind that I'm sure wasn't mine.
There's too many kids in this tub.

I jumped right in
Began to swim
I kicked my feet
Just like a fin
I jumped again
I love to swim
The water's great
Come on get in!

This is a great idea! I was just thinking, why don't we have a special folder for Scrapbooking poems? I know this is a stampers website, but it could easily be tossed in with the other threads! I am going to ask the moderator if we can add this on as it's own thread. I have just been all over the web looking for a great Princess poem with no avail. And thinking, I go to SCS for everything else. why not this too?
Please write to the moderator and ask for a new thread, the more requests the more likely we'll get one!
Thanks for getting this started!
God made the world with towering trees,
Majestic mountains, and restless seas.
Then paused and said, It needs one more thing....
someone to laugh and dance and sing.
To walk in the woods and gather flowers....
to commune with nature in quiet hours."
So God made little girls
With laughing eyes and bouncing curls,
with joyful hearts and infectious smiles,
enchanting ways and feminine wiles.
And when He'd completed the task He'd begun,
He was pleased and proud of the job He'd done.
For the world, when seen through a little girl's eyes
greatly resembled Paradise.

The Middle Child
Even though you're not the oldest,
or the youngest, you see,
Being in the middle is a really neat place to be!
The middle of a sandwich
is the most important part,
And in the middle of your body,
you will find your heart.
The engine in the middle
is what runs a good machine;
And our family wouldn't be the same
without you in between.
How do I love you?
(P. K. Hallinan) (this is great for a sentiments album)
How do I love you?
Let me count the ways.
I love you on your very best
and very worst of days.
I love to see you laughing and dancing in the rain;
And even when you lose your shoes, I love you just the same.
I love to hear you singing.
I love to see you smile.
I love the way you take each day in your own unhurried style.
I'm happy when you're happy,
and I'm sorry when you're sad.
And even though it may not show, I love you when you're bad.
How do I love you? Well, now let me see...
I love the way you act so brave when you fall and hurt your knee.
I love to watch you sleeping, tucked away in dreams,
I love to hear you whisper all your giant plans and schemes.
I love the way you wear your pants with the front part in the back.
And the way you walk around sometimes with your head inside a sack.
I love to see you deep in thought.
I love to watch you play.
And though I'm sure you'll never know it, I love you more each day.
How do I love you? It's impossible to say.
For if I had a million days and time enough for all the praise,
I couldn't tell you all the ways...I LOVE YOU!
Let's Hug
There's a hug to say I love you
And a hug to say goodbye
There's a hug to say how are you
And a hug to say we tried
There's a hug to bond a friendship
And a hug when the day is through
But the hug I love in all the world
Is the hug I get from you.

I think this is a great idea. I wrote a poem for our challenge chasers RAK group to put in their cards. I'll have to work on something for this.

When my daughter turned 12, I found this list of things and put it in her birthday card, and scrapbook as well!
For 12 years:
4383 rotations of the Earth
78 blown out birthday candles
1.2 decades
7200 washings of the tides
15 lunar eclipses
1 dozen Nobel Peace Laureates
6 lightings of the Olympic torch
107295840 breaths of life
You have been truly, completely, unconditionally loved by everyone who has ever come in contact with you!!!!!!!!!!!!
It can be done at any age............... especially someone marking thier older birthdays!

Babies are angels that fly to the earth,
their wings disappear at the time of their birth.
One look in their eyes and we're never the same,
they're part of us now and that part has a name.
That part is your heart and a bond that won't sever,
our babies are angels, we love them forever!

Nature's first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold
Her early leaf is a flower
but only so for an hour
Then leaf subsides to leaf
So Eden sank into grief
As the dawn turns into day
Nothing gold can stay
Robert Frost
a beautiful poem about the changes of life. My parents used this poem in my high school year book. Talk about a tear jerker.

You can also use passages from songs.
For example: I see trees of green, red roses too. I see them bloom for me and you. And I think to myself, what a wonderful world.
this passage can be used with a picture of a child under a tree, or smelling flowers.
There are songs for every occasion.

Angels in Our Lives
Angels in Our Lives
Be still....and hear the angels;
feel their prescence and their love.
They comfort and watch over you,
they're sent from up above.
They illuminate your life
in so many ways....
In scilence, and in laughter,
in friendships, work and play.
Know that they are with you,
and for you they truely care.
They will wrap their arms around you
and will be withyou in prayer.
So although you may not see them,
or recognize their voice,
the involvement in your life,
is involvement of their choice.
They will help you stay in focus,
and your dreams you shall acheive.
But first....be still and listen
and let your heart beleive.
Let your heart beleive in angels.
It's only then that it is clear,
that althought you may not see them,
through their love they will appear

Warm fuzzy Buzz Bugs
When you do something nice
You get a warm flushed feeling
Some folks call it
"the warm fuzzies"
Feels good
People like it
If you haven't felt "the warm fuzzies"
Here's how:
Do something nice ten times
Or ten nice things
Thant should do it
If not;
Repeat as neccessary
Here's how it happens:
your brain makes a substance called endorphines
Endporphines make you feel good
The scientific word for this endorphine is "the buzz bug"
Because it bites you,
You feel warm and fuzzy
We call it "The warm fuzzy buzz bugs"
It feels good
And you make it yourself
Nice huh?

The Miracle of Friendship
There's a miracl of friendship that dwells within the heart
And you don't know how it happens or where it got its start
But the happiness it bringsyou always gives a special lift
And you realize that friendship is God's perfect gift

ROMANCE - is sending out vibrations to our spouses about their specialness and desireability. It is a recognition of their sexuality in and out of the bedroom, the affirmation of our femininity and thier masculinity. It is stopping in the mad rush of life to focus on our partners as uniquein our lives.

Tell Him Now!
If with pleasure you are veiwing,
anything a man is doing,
if you prize him, if you love him,
tell him now!
Don't withhold your abborration
'till the parson makes orration
and he lies with lilies on his brow.
For no matter how you shout it
he won't really know about it
he can't count the teardrops that you shed.
If you think some praise is due him,
now's the time to pass it to him.
For he can't read his tombstone when he's dead!

All the letters in all the books all over the world; they're nothing but sounds, vowels and nouns for talking to stranger. That's all they're worth. Words are unable to speak of a love like a smile and a whisper can.

When I graduated from Nursing school, I used the Florence Nightengale pledge for Nurses on one of my scrapbook pages.
A lot of times if you are looking for a specific subject or quote about something, you can just do a google search and find what you are looking for on the net! :p

Our family is a circle of strength and love.
With every birth and every union, the circle grows.
Every joy shared adds more love.
Every crisis faced together makes the circle stronger.
This is on a plaque in my kitchen...

For a pet Cat
sandpaper kisses on a cheek or a chin that is the way for a day to begin;
sandpaper kisses a cuddle a purr I have a alarm clock covered in fur.
In sympathy
Some one remembers,
some one cares,
someone whispers your name in prayer.

A mother's joy begins when new life is stirring inside...
When a tiny heartbeat is heard for the very first time,
And a playful kick reminds her that she is never alone.
Good for a pregnancy page or ultrasound page.

"New dreams to dream, new joys to share, a new baby to love."
"He's our mornings first smile, our bundle of hugs, a heartful of wonder and joy.
He's everything precious and cuddly and sweet. He's our wonderful baby boy."
"She likes to make me laugh, and I can make her smile
and sometimes we just sit and cuddle for awhile.
She's teaching me some games and how to get along
and someday soon I'll count and read and learn to sing a song.
If she feels like being nice she lets me share her toys
cause even if they're made for girls they're just as fun for boys.
Sometimes I hug too hard and my kisses make her sigh
although we fight, she loves me. I'm such a cute little guy.
I hope when we grow up she'll be a friend like no other
but for now I think I like this being a little brother."
for pictures dressed as cowboys:
"Wanted: ___ year old wrangler that goes by the name of Cowboy ________, cutest little cowpoke in town. Wanted for stealing treats, not eating all of his dinner, and using flirtatious behavior on unsuspecting women-folk. Armed with contagious smile and big brown eyes -- and he's not afraid to use them. Can be identified by his distinctive "Yee Haw" call. Approach cautiously with hugs and kisses."
