Default Ok, I need card help

Specifically, the card on page 39 in the SU catalog, top one. I am having some kind of mental block with this and I can't figure it out. This and one of my all time favorite cards in the DD gallery by Julie, her heart card listed as her favorite as well, how do you all make cards like these?

OK, here is my problem. Every year my Christmas card is a picture of my children. Last year I wanted to incorporate my new love of stamping so I made a pocket card, which I got may compliments on from my family.

So, this year I would like to do something with my kids picture and stamping again, and I was thinking about making a card similar to the one on page 39, but in the window would be my children. So, here is where I am having my block, are the trees just on the inside of the card, where you would have your sentiment, and your names? WHY IS THIS SO HARD FOR ME???

Thanks. Any help I could get from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

To me it looks like the tree are on a piece of paper. and the placed behind the opening.

I have done this with some of the my cards and it's pretty easy.
I went to the back of the catalog to see what they had said about it. Darn they didn't say. Just told me what colors and supplies they used.

Good luck!

You could do it that way, just a window to the image on the next page or, it could be made like a shaker box. You would put your dimensional tape (I use leftover foam from stamp mounting cut into strips) around the back of your opening and then stick your image to that. You could even turn it into a shakerbox window with some sparkly fluff, the bits of irridesent cellophane, or something else non-scratchy for your photos. You could even frame the outside!
Don't forget to put a little something on the back of the photo, paper with a coordinating stamp or something, you don't want the plain white photo paper showing when they open it up.

By looking at the picture, they do appear to be stamped on the inside. I did a card similar to this a couple months ago, just faux stitching. It was double sided paper with the lighter color on the insdie.
