i just discovered this challenge at 6:45 p.m. it's too late for me to make a card but i did want to say that I loved all the cards made with this original and appealing template. As usual, the talent here is awesome. I will definitely try this soon. of course, i do have to figure out how to enlarge the template and print it; that may take a week.
Finally pinned DH down to take the pic for me. Want to give this one another try with a different size. Have been practicing with my Prismas on the sunflower. Seemed to have better luck with my chalks, but think it will just take alot of practice. Sunflower

It's *never* too late to do a challenge! Go for it!
Here's my challenge. Another thanks to Deb Pier for helping with the template. I like this style and will make more I am sure. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

I played with it a little so that it measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and the ribbon only looks like it wraps around the whole card. It is actually 3 pieces so the card still opens easily.
Once upon a time I had the template for this card, but that was years ago and I seem to have lost it along the way. In any case Im very glad to see it pop up in this weeks challenge!! Thanks Beth!! Here is my Dragonfly Dance card...thanks for looking!
Needed a distraction tonight - this was perfect! I like this layout. I CASEd a card I saw using the new Blossoms Abound as a background. I love this because it gives another use for this set besides just one branch of lilacs as the foreground.

I gave this one a try. My printer wasn't cooperating and so I tried to tweak the template myself. The edges are a little rough and not matching but it's my first try at something like this. Here it is:

I was embarrassed by my first one (on the left in the picture) and couldn't really imagine what image I have that would look nice on it (small enough and the same style as the paper). I like the second one better, but my cutting skills are still about 2nd grade level though!
Thanks for the great challenge Beth! I loved doing this! Mine's called Old Friend. See what you think.........

Here's my "Different Card"!! Mine has points...I noticed no one elses does?!? After I looked at some of the other cards and noticed the points weren't there I folded mine back and I like it a little better. I think I'll snip them off!
I am computer retarded and thanks to several SCSers I finally figured out how to get my template right...thanks for all of your help. I did this card late last night and I am not really that pleased w/it, so I will try another one today...this was a tough challenge for me...
I have a silly question, and if it was already asked, I apologize, i can't read through all the replies at this time. For those of you that have different colors of cs for each side of the interlocking front, how did you do that? Did you tape two pieces of card stock together in the middle of the card? I'm sure its probably something really simple and my brain just isn't clicking this morning to figure it out! I am going to print this template out here at work and see if I can't figure it out tonight. It sure looks cool, and all of the posts are awesome!!
OK here is mine. I have to admit that this template intimidated me at first. But I decided that I was up for a challenge and I am so glad I did. I love it. Thank you GarnetJ and Beth for pushing us. Somestimes we need a push.
I enlarged the pattern for two different size. I have a small card that fits in the small narrow business envelopes and a medium pattern that fits in the large narrow business envelopes. I think I enlarged 105% and 134%. I am not quite sure of the small one but the larger size I know is correct. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Amy my husband is from Escanaba (?sp). Where abouts are you.
Now answer to your quesstion. I cut out the pattern on one color of C/S and then layed the pattern on my pattern paper and traced just the one side of the front, then cut it out. I was wondering the same thing you asked when I started so if someone did something different and easier I hope they share. Though this was quite simple. Just make sure you don't reverse the paper. I almost did just that but caught myself in the nick of time.
Good luck and one of these days I hope to see your little part of the world. DH grew up there until he was 13 then moved to California.
Just in case any one wanted to alter the sizes, I copied my template off at 144% to make fit a long envie. And I copied the template off at 110% to fit an invitation size (regular) envie. Hope that helps some of you. Now to put off chores so I can stamp a card!
thanks for the tip. I ran some off at these bigger sizes to work on tonight.
