Default Xyron/Vellum ??

I was wondering if you use the Xyron on vellum can you see it like you do the mono adhesive? I hate when I use vellum and you can see the adhesive.
Thanks!

I'm not sure about the Xyron but I use vellum tape and it works pretty well.

You can get vellum tape at WalMart, Michaels, usually stamp stores have it too.

I know that someone mentioned in another thread awhile back that they do run vellum through the Xyron and you can't see the adhesvie. I've never tried it.

You don't see any lines because the adhesive is all over the back, but it looks differently - like shadowed or darker looking. But now you've diminished the need for all those great embellishments such as brads, eyelets. snaps, etc.

I love my Xyron, especially when I am mass producing such as Christmas cards.

Julie -

The Xyron 510 is on sale at Joann's this week - 30% off for a price of $34.99. All the refill cartidges are 40% off as well. My mom and I priced the same one at Michael's and it was twice as much! You could check their website at www.joann.com if there's not a store near you.

I bought the 510 from there awhile back but I still need to play with it!

Sorry - the price at Joann's actually goes through October 31! They also have the little X150 Create-A-Sticker for $6.99 if you just want something small to experiment on.

I used my Xyron 250 with vellum to mass produce 2 dozen cards for a christmas swap and it worked great! I also ran strips of grosgrain ribbon thru it as I wanted the ribbon to lay flat along the entire length of the cards...that worked great also. I was able to put 4 pieces of ribbon thru at a time. It sure saved a lot of hassle! I also have the great big top o the line Xyron, got it for my birthday 4 years ago...it's still in the box because I have no room for it right now.

Default vellum and zyron

I have the zyron 900, but I would recommend the 500 because of the size. They are great and I use it on all my projects that require vellum. It is the only way that I have found that does not show at all! It is great and you will not regret buying one. Go for it!

Michaels has 40% coupons just about every week so you could pick one up fairly cheap that way. Just keep watching. Around any holiday they have a 50% coupon off and that is even better.

I got my xyron at JoAnn's a couple of months ago. It was on clearance for $39.99 and then they were 50% off (for the 500 value pack...got other adhesives with it). So I only paid $20 and got extras with it! They also had the refills 50% off. I would watch for JoAnn's to have anoher sale like that!

I've used it with vellum and it worked great. I gives it a sofer/cloudier look, but sometimes that can be a great look, depending on what type of look you are going for!

I hope this works. I've never been able to get adding a URL into a message here to work, so I'm going to attempt to add an attachment. Assuming it works, here's a card I made, where I used my Xyron to adhere vellum to the background.

If that didn't work, you're welcome to go to my gallery and look for it... it's the colorblocked one with the Petal Prints flower. If you search by "latest" it'll be the 3rd one.

Hope this helps!

I got my zyron from wilde-ideas.com. They are on sale there, too. And they are packaged different ways -alone, with the 150, etc.

I too, have used vellum in my xyron. The problem is, I forget that I have it and haven't used it very much  duh!
I LOVE the idea of putting ribbon through. What a spectacular idea :!:
