Making Memories Metal glue, has anyone used it?

I bought this to use on the fruit can bottoms, but ended up throwing it in the trash. The directions were not clear (to me). First of all, my glue was VERY thick and would not even move in the tube. Is it supposed to be that thick? It says to allow air bubble to rise to the tip before opening. Well, mine wouldn't even move, let alone rise. Are you supposed to remove the tip that is on it to start with? I just put a pin in it and thought you put one of the other tips that came with it over that, but it doesn't fit. Soooooo I took the tip that came on it off....and now it won't even go back on. I just threw the whole gooey mess away. If anyone else has used this can you enlighten me? Thanks.

I have a tube I've yet to open, lol. I've had it for months, shame on me! I do know, just from experience, anytime you want air bubbles to rise, it helps to gently tap the bottom on the table. This kind of forces the bubble to rise.

I'll have to get mine out and try it...although, when I do fruit cans I always use Crystal Effects with great results.

They've changed their glue formula and packaging!!!! Despite having experienced all the previous problems, I bought one of the new models and have been truly impressed. They've obviously listened to all our complaints. The new glue is not nearly as thick and comes in a container that sits upright with the nozzle pointing down, so no more waiting for the air bubbles to rise. I also bought a bottle of their ribbon glue and I'm hooked on the stuff.

Default Thanks Lesa

I will look for the new. Looks like AC Moore would get rid of the old crappy stuff. Wish I had kept my receipt.

I have one of the old glues, and mine is not that thick, the air bubbles does rise.....i haven't had any problems with changing the tip either, but maybe you all had a bad batch? We had that last year here in Norway with one batch of ez-mount that was made to ship to europe, and they didn't stick to the stamp....

Mine dried up quickly, had problems changing tips. Normally I love MM products but was extremely disappointed with this. glue. Contact MM and let them know. They appreciate customer feed back. If you're nice about it you may even get a nice little compensation gift!

I just got some last week and it took forever for the glue to come down and it's really really thick! Not impressed with it already

I LOVE my MM metal glue - I use it for anything that needs a really good hold. Mine is pretty thick but I was expecting it to be and *like* it like that. I have to use the piercer every time to unclog the tip but then I have to do that w/ all my glues that have such a narrow applicator.

If you are having a lot of trouble w/ it I too suggest you call MM as they can't fix it if they don't know about it

I also use Crystal Effects from SU on teh fruit cans-plus you can use it for attaching beads, glitter, and a bunch of other things as well so it has multiple uses.

I used it to glue so MM metal pieces on some scrapbook pages and I was not impressed at all. The pieces didn't stick very well even after I let them dry. I bought crystal effects to use but I haven't tried it yet.
