Thanks for sharing! I like that the sets in the mini all seem to be pretty affordable; some of the others in the regular catty shocked me!

Just wondering, since the BigShot is in this mini, will we really have to wait until October to order it?!?

Thanks for the Sneak Peek
I just mailed my application to become a Stampin' Up Demonstrator the other day, so I'm so excited to see the mini catalog! I can't wait to join the Stampin' Up family.

Too bad you didn't do it online; you'd be in the family already!
But a big "welcome" ahead of time!

Love It!
Wow!! Thanks for linking this one in! I just love Season of Simple Grace, Deck the Halls, and Ski Slope paper.
As a long-time, and admitidly unimpressed, sizzix sidekick owner, I am definately getting a little more excited about the BigKick. I love the pumpkins and snowflakes dies. Also, if you check out the Sizzix website you will find many more dies, alphas, and decorative strips.
Now, I just have to decide what to get first!

I totally agree with you. This is the first mini catalog in possibly years that I have wanted to order from Better start saving up now.

Just some info for everyone about the Cuttlebug- The mouth is 6", so any die under 6" wide should work. I know i've used the Bigz dies before and they worked fine.

Yes, it is the same principle, but it is bigger and sturdier.

The top note die will not work in the cuttlebug. It is one of the BigZ dies. However, if you decide to switch machines some demonstrators are running their own specials on them. Then all the cuttlebugs will fit in the big shot and you can also have the stampin up dies.

Why will the BigZ dies not fit in the Cuttlebug ? I just got my Cuttlebug for Mother's Day (haven't had alot of time to play). I picked the Cuttlebug because of the "universality" of being able to use other co's dies.

The Bigz will work in the Cuttlebug. Where you will run into complications is with the Bigz XL. While they will fit, the extended plates will NOT fit in a Bug. There's a somewhere that shows a workaround. Let me see if I can find it. :-)

Ok, here is the Big Shot FAQ (frequently asked questions) thread
Forums at Splitcoaststampers
and here is a blog that shows how to make Bigz XL work.
http://indigoinklings.blogspot.com/2...cuttlebug.html
For me, it's too much work. I now own a Big Shot. LOL But I've had my Bug for nearly two years, and he is definitely worth what I paid for him and more. But I'm lazy. I don't want to try running things through multiple times to get a die to work. Maybe I'm just not very steady at it! :-)

Thanks for sharing! I have to say... I'm less and less impressed with SU! stuff these days. I agree with earlier posts that these sets are better than the ones in the new catalog. However, nothing I would go out of my way to order. I was a SU! demonstrator for five years, then stopped this year. I'm not sure they have their priorities in the same place. I know they are trying to go "global", but the designs seem to be suffering.
Thanks for the sneak peak!

I have enough earmarked from the big catty to get at least one level 3 hostess set, with the addition of the winter mini, I am sure I'll be able to get the second one I want

Holiday Mini Catalog
I love the Holiday Mini Catalog, especially the Sizzex Dies. Does anyone know if the dies will also work for Sizzex Big-Kick?

I do! I do! It is the only set I want from the mini. I also like the felt snowflakes and some of the dies.

I do!!! When I first saw it I thought "It looks like the Shaker Tree of Life." Very basic American and Biblical. Also just a nice set.
The following site describes the history/background of the Shaker Tree of Life
http://www.newyorker.com/archive/200...13crat_atlarge
The following site is from Shaker Workshops and has the image that I thought of when I looked at the card on Page 7 of the mini.

Lots of great items in this mini.
