I'm such a simple stamper that I'm trying to think of something more than just the basics! May not come, but at least it has me thinking out of the box! I'm very excited about this, and want to thank all who are doing the organization of it!

Simple is great too though. We're all going to learn something from each card, whether its a cool technique or a cool color combination or seeing a stamp in a new light or color, through someone elses eyes. Personally, I can't wait for my 'day of stampin'. Besides some cards might take longer becuse they might have a technique that is new to someone so we'll need simpler ones with a cool look to catch up. One person could finish a card in 5 minutes another might take 15. Ya just never know.

Slight sidetrack for a minute... I need some help from y'all up there! I'm pretty sure I will be going to a conference in Arlington on May 24th, spending the night on the 23rd...the Hyatt Crystal City or something like that... Is it easy to get to? It said something like Valet Parking Only...what does that mean? Any other info that would be helpful??? Also it seems a lot of hotels are sold out at this time...is there something big going on?
So as not to tie up this thread about the swap, please PM if you have any info! THANKS!
Sherri, my darlin hubby tells me its not that hard to get to at all 95 to 395 and then on regular streets for a few blocks. Valet parking is just that, someone else will park your car for you for a fee. There really isn't much if ANY street parking so be prepared to hand the keys off to someone. As far as whats going on around that time frame, it could just be confreence time in the DC area (which seems like always) or it could be college graduation time. My neice is graduating a week earlier from Johns Hopkins so thats what makes me think it might be GW or Georgetown graduations (but thats totally a guess).
Hi! Is there any space available? I live in Front Royal, and I'm a little scared because I don't know anyone, but it sounds like so much fun!
Hi there Ronie, I just put your name into the last slot so we are at capacity again. Any names added from now on will go onto the waiting list. Send me your registration form and payment and I'll change your slot from 'tentative' to 'paid'.
Don't be scared about not knowing anyone. Just come find me and I'll introduce you to some of the people that I know, and to some that I've just met.

PS...I hope to put our registrations and $$ in the mail tomorrow...been gathering the info for 3 of us so I can mail them all together! Sherri, Stacy & Melanie
Terri, thanks for the the sweet comment about my gallery! I guess there will be a lot of us there that don't know anyone but I'm sure it won't take long for my shyness to disappear.
Sherri, I am so excited to make new stampin' friends!
I don't have any ideas yet either, but maybe that's because I'm still trying to come up with swaps for the VA Beach regional, the SCS dinner in VA Beach the weekend of the regional, and another shoebox swap next weekend, and finishing up stuff for a craft fair in late April . . . What was I thinking??

just kidding...
LOL! I actually have my card design for the SCS dinner in VA Beach and I've started working on it...but haven't come up with anything for the swap yet... If I don't have something by the time the SCS dinner comes around, maybe that swap will spark me! (and you, too, ltecler!)
Whew! I'm glad I'm not the only one having trouble coming up with an idea! I do have my VA Beach regional swap idea and prototype so I think I've reached my limit of ideas.
I'm in the same boat. I have no idea about what card I will make, and I just found out my DH is going to TDY for the month! He ALWAYS does this to me! If I can't get a sitter then I won't be able to go. So... my first priority is a sitter!
I'm sooo glad you'll be able to make it. And totally don't worry about your card not being good enough. I'm sure that everyone will learn something from every card. I know I will. I'm really looking forward to the challenge of Bergstamers Viola/Chef card. I'm also hoping that some cards will be beautiful but easy. I really apprecaited that at the last swap I attended.

PA-LEEESE! You KNOW I can't do that! I'm already getting the sweats thinking about my card design
So... has anyone seen those U-tube videos with the scrapbooking lady (she's really a man dressed as a lady) - hilarious! I'm thinking about attaching a pen to my card, or making cupcakes to go along with my card design that each card can physically be inserted into. So you would not only get a fabulous card, but a cupcake too. You can't eat the cupcake though because it's part of the card design. Thoughts??
Unfortunately, Joan B had to remove herself from the swap (BOO HOO HOO!) due her mom's health (keep her in your prayers). I've invited her to still come and have lunch with us so she can catch up with the people that she met last year so hopefully she'll be able to do that.
I've added Karen on to the regular list of attendees (Welcome Karen!!) and we're back to having NO ONE on the waiting list. If you know someone that wants to join us please let me know. I'd like to have a few names on the waiting list in case anyone else has to drop out.

Hmm...sounds yummy, but we can't eat the cupcake?? How are you going to insert a card into a cupcake without ruining the card with icing or somethign? This, I HAVE to see. I say go for it.

Oh No!!! Prayers for your mom, Joan. I *do* hope you will at least come by and visit...I was *really* looking forward to seeing you again.
Karen--glad you're "in"! Guess we'll see each other next week in Va Beach, too! ;)
I'm sorry I have to miss this. Life is hectic but ok, you know how it is sometimes!! Enjoy
I'm sorry you're gonna miss it too. I was really looking forward to meeting you, you're such an inspiration. Hopefully at another. Hope everything is OK with your mom.
CardLuver - Thanks for coming out to Reisterstown yesterday - I enjoyed meeting you! I'd love to add my name to your waiting list, but my son will be coming home from college for the summer on the 12th (yeah!!), and I think I'll be heading to Penn State to help bring home a carload of stuff. Please keep me in mind for any other swaps you might host - I'd be glad to drive down if I'm free. Can't wait to hear about the new baby! Thanks, Cathy
Cathy, I posted in your swap thread about how fantastic I thought your swap was. I hope mine goes as well!! It was such a nice relaxing pace and i got to chat with some really neat people.
I'll definately let you know the next time I do one!!

Sherri, I got the registration forms for you and Stacy and Melanie and I've marked you as paid in the original post.
Unfortunatly Kristransue had to back out of the swap (boo hoo) and we don't have anyone on the waiting list right now. Does anyone know of someone that might want to come?? Just let them know and have them post here.
