Hi GUys,
I live in Bowie, MD. That's pretty close to a bunch of you. Hope your trip back from Japan goes well and look forward to talking back and forth with you.

I am in Mechanicsville and love the area, of course my kids hate it as there isn't much to do in our city..lol..but I love how quiet it is, before this I was in Orlando, Florida..lol!

Hi, I'm in Frederick, MD, just about 40 miles from Silver Spring. Depending upon the traffic it takes 45 minutes to 4 hours to get there from here. Welcome to MD. Pauline
I am in Alexandria....If someone has a big house....and wouldn't mind hosting a Shoebox swap, I am sure there would be a pretty descent turnout. Everyone could bring a dish.
I could do it. My house isn't huge, but I could set it up the same as a stamp camp - through the living room, dining room and kitchen. That would be fun! Plus, I just scored two big and sturdy tables from the Linens 'n Things closeout sale. Psych!!!

Hi Everyone!
I'm in Glen Burnie but work in PG Cty. I'd love to get together with other MD stampers! I'm not a demo though (at least not yet!) is that ok?
There was a shoebox swap at Joan B's house last weekend. It was a lot of fun, and many of the posters from this thread attended. I'm sorry you missed that. I'm sure you won't have a problem getting participants together for another one, though. Most of the time, people post something like that in the "get it together" forum so that others know where to look for a gathering in their area.
I would love to get together with others from this area, but I am in the process of moving back to the midwest. You probably need to schedule it at least a month away from now to give people enough time to notice the gathering, sign up, come up with a swap idea, and get the supplies needed for their swap. By then, I'll be living in Arkansas. Good luck on your event. I hope you have a large turnout.
Let me know if you set a date and location! I was at Joan's shoebox swap (my first) and it was super! I'd love to go to another. I'm in Beltsville so it wouldn't be hard to get to you.
Hello everyong ... not to rudely invite myself, but if there is extra room, I'd love to fill in!!! I just moved to the area and am looking to make friends - especially ones into stamping like me!!! Just let me know!!!

It's not rude at all, lol. I just did the same thing a little while ago. Nothing is actually set yet though. Hey, we must be neighbors - I'm in PG county but the end of my block is Silver Spring. I'm in Calverton/Beltsville.

Glad you found this thread! You aren't rude at all! Funny, I hadn't checked the latest postings, and I just PM'd a link to this thread to you. Theresa and I rode together to the SCS gathering at Joan's weekend before last. She was great company for the drive down there.
Thanks for the compliment Janna! I'm sorry you are moving away just after I met you. Anyone willing to drive me to AC Moore on our way home from a stamping event understands me better than my DH, lol!
I'd be happy to help, too. I'm technically in Silver Spring, but it's more like Wheaton.
Ok, lets give it a go then. When are you available? Not sure what sort of lead time is good for something like this - one month? Two? Joan, how long did you guys take to get yours organized? I can check about using the parish hall at my church, it is quite roomy and has an adjoining kitchen for food etc. Any other suggestions are welcome, since I've never done one of these things before.
I would like to come to the gathering too---I had signed up for the first one, but ended up missing it bc. my daughter's softball team unexpectedly went on to the tournament level. Keep us posted.
I'd come depending on the date. I've gone to several in DE and done 3 in Baltimore so far and met some awesome ladies. Theresa, PM me and I can help ya set it up. With me in Baltimore though, I can't help with location.

I'm trying to see if my church is available near mid October. I've found the fee is $250 to use the hall and the kitchen (and that is with a member discount!) so if this comes to be, I will definitely need to share the fee. I'll keep you posted.
Ok everyone! The location is St. John's Episcopal Church at Powder Mill Rd (Rte. 212) and Route 1 (Baltimore Avenue) in Beltsville, Maryland. I have the hall and kitchen reserved for October 14th from 9:00am to 4:00pm, (plus an hour at each end for set-up and clean up). Now I need to see if there is enough interest to make a go of it. If we get 30 people the hall rental will be about $8.50 or so per person, if we get 20 people it would be $12.50 each. We will have a sign up for lunch items and I will post it to prevent duplication. There is one large (and somewhat cranky;) oven, a regular sized refrigerator and lots of counter space in the kitchen.
Details of the swap:
All cards are to be full cards. Each person will need to bring enough supplies for everyone to make their card, including all cardstock, stamps, inks, ebellishments, tools etc. Precut your cardstock/ribbons etc. and place everything needed for one card in a baggie or envelope (this really helps!). Each person brings their own adhesive to use on all projects. Make sure all of your supplies are labelled with your name or initials to prevent mix-ups. All cards (or projects for you ambitious folks!) must be made using Stampin' Up! stamps, cardstock, inks, etc. Stamps and colors can be either current or retired.
Please post or PM me if interested. (Please, oh please! It would make a super birthday for me to meet all of you and stamp the whole day:mrgreen: ) If there is enough interest we'll confirm the event and post more info (directions, registration form etc.)
There are quite a few of us stamp-a-holics in Ellicott City, above Columbia. It's right up 29. We love to stamp and we have met Britta, in fact my friend works with her hubby and we went to her shoe box swap last year (very fun). I keep thinking I will have one but I just haven't had the time.
My family is the opposite of yours ZZZach's Mom, we are from the SE part of Oklahoma (Broken Bow and Durant) and my son will be going to school in Arkansas (Searcy). In fact, I just got back from both places! So maybe we'll meet here to stamp and know folks from there! pm me and I'll let you know if we do a swap or camp soon!
