Okay, here's my feeble attempt! I didn't have clear EP so I used my clear crystal EP - I think that's why the images behind weren't as clear, but oh well! I tried!
This is my last one for this week. I really enjoyed this week's challenge. Thanks so much for making us get out of the box so to speak w/our stamping...
First of all, I mistakenly posted this under TLC14 instead of TLC15.
I also mislabeled my cards.
Also, both of my cards were in the gallery when I posted, now one is missing (I'm having one of those days!)
Anyway, here is what I posted in the other forum:
Wow--
I really had a good time with this technique! And, boy, did I go through some embossing powder!! I think I made 6 sheets that I are good enough to keep and use!
Beth, thanks so much for these challenges! It is really a lot of fun!
I couldn't get this idea out of my head, so I had to play with it! I'm not sure it really worked, but at least it is out of my head (and into yours .... BWAHAAHAAHAAA!).;)
One more from me for tonight. This is a very subtle version. It's probably really more just Emboss Resist, but there is color underneath that shines through.
This was my first time trying a challenge. Well, it's ok, I guess. I actually had a lot of fun making it knowing that I would be showing everyone. It didn't turn out like I thought it would, but that's ok.
I'm giving this another try. I posted my card twice yesterday--the first time it was in the gallery--momentarily. Then it disappeared. The second time it never appeared. It is pending right now, so I'm hoping this works this time!
Well, it didn't work.
So I tried again--with moderator advice to give my file a unique name. So I titled my card with what I thought was a clever name.
It disappeared again.
Finally, I got step-by-step advice from the awesome Jenn Balcer (THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!) I learned that my FILE (on my computer) needed a unique name
Anyway, I think the problem is now fixed!
I titled my card "Going In Circles" because that's what I have been doing!
Another card using this technique--I liked the effect so much I made 12 for our monthly card swap. I used glossy white paper to brayer the three underlying colors. The scan doesn't show it, but the emerging colors are sleek and shiny on the glossy paper. Just need to add some ribbon or an embellishment to finish it off. What do you think? This was my first attempt at any of the challenges, and definitely a first for Emerging Colors. I love the cards you all have been posting, and after reading this thread I couldn't wait to try it. I am not thrilled with my first attempt.
I can't wait to show my two DDs this technique and see what their little creative minds come up with! Thanks to all of you for your inspiration and encouragement to try new things.
It was a rainy day, so perfect to try something new. This is my first try at emerging colours technique and it won't be my last. I like the dimensions it gives. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
It didn't turn out how I expected but at least I tried. I was thinking that purple would be dark enough ink to cover up the under stamps but guess not. I also found out that my clear EP has LOTS of specks of other colors in it :(
I know that I'm a little late but here is my first try. I did another sample in Bashful BLue and Apricot Appeal. This was so fun! I love how each stamp set gives you a totally different look! Thanks for this!
Here's mine. I think it would have worked out a whole lot better if I had some more solid stamps. I used the little flower from Delight in Life, and it didn't really show much of the purple from the big blossom.
here is my first (well really second) try..........the first is in the garbage.....this one did not come out correctly, but I still think it is kind of cool....
