Yup!!! My DH is like that too! I know that he has always been interested in my hobby (scrapping and stamping). He never buy storebought cards anymore, he would kick me out and he make birthday card for me. It' sooo cute! He does the same with anniversary and valentines as well. He also made mother's day card. He refuse to let me scan them in. He knows which paper to use because I wouldn't let anybody touch my Wild Aspargus or Basic Grey stuff! He says that he paid for them anyway (that's true...I'm a stay at home mom). He loves looking thru my SU and non SU stamp collection. I have about 250.
My ex used my crimper once and got addicted. He started crimping every scrap piece of paper, receipt, etc. in the entire house. It was too funny! That tool just appeals to men for some reason. Can't wait to see his creation!
I can just picture you walking around the house and finding reciepts or whatever crimped!
So my hubby was getting ready for work tonite and said he wants to come home and make his card... so I might have something later tonite to show you ladies :-D
The only way my husband would make a card if it had a fly rod attached to it. He can't understand why I don't like to fly fish like him and I told him to come in my craftroom and scrap/stamp with me.

That was how it was before the whole crimper thing... All the sudden it was like something clicked in his brain and he saw a little glimps into why I like making cards and scrapbooking.
LOL I thought the same thing about my DH. He is a soldier. What soldier actually stamps? I mean he blows stuff up for a living (he is a combat engineer). Well he reluctantly made a card for a VSN challenge he and I hosted together back in August. It was shaving cream technique challenge. He had so much fun and said he wanted to do another one. He has been so busy training though he hasn't had time. But here is his card: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers He was in the dog house because he forgot our anniversary. So he partly made it trying make up for forgetting. He used my favorite colors which were also our wedding colors.
Make sure to post your DH's masterpeice when he is done with it. I always love seeing what the men in our lives stamp.
I'm excited to see what he creates too! Mh DH is a good critical eye and gives me lots of color and design advice. He's right most of the time. He'll help stamp if I ask (with no moaning or groaning! ) but he hasn't decided to do it on his own yet.

No moaning or groaning! Wow! I can't get my hubby to walk in a craft store w/o moaning and groaning! That's part of the reason I'm shocked he actually wants to make a card
Well now I am all into this. I will be awaiting your dh's masterpiece. I read this whole thread to my dh and he just chuckled. I will say he is a manly man but is all about buying me supplies, as long as I tell him specifically what I want. I sent him a link tonight for my Chrsitmas present. LOL!

Thats so cool. I can't wait to see the card. I've been reading this thread, hoping by the time I got to the end you would have posted it. My hubby has made me a few cards in the past. He is totally fascinated by emboss resist and crayon resist. It's so cute, he actually tells his friends "how cool this technique is";).
My DH wouldn't know where to start. This past Mother's Day he wanted to make me a card, but didn't know what to do, so he calls up an SU demo friend of mine down the street and asks her if he could get a card from her for me. Well it is the thought that counts!
I *had* to show my husband his thread. Coincidentally, I've been to that AC Moore (in Lincoln Plaza) a zillion times. Luckily my hubby is supportive. He actually encourages me to buy more stuff <gasp>.
He always makes cards for me...anniversary, birthday, christmas. It usually takes him 2-3 times as long as it takes me, but his cards are always 2-3 times as intricate. I made him a Gallery on the site. You can only see his earlier work. I'll have to post more!
If my husband even stepped a foot in my craft room, I would kill him!!!! I don't share my craft stuff with him and he knows it. He has his art stuff and I am not allowed to touch it so he isn't allowed to play with mine. I have been told I should share with him and teach him to stamp, yea that ain't happin in my house. But if you are happy letting your hubby play with your stamps go for it. Each to their own.

Well being that is is just one card I no biggy... but if he started doing it all the time he wouldn't be able to touch my stuff.... he doesn't know how to put things away- I can't find things as they are! hahaha :O)
Now that he's embossed, you know how addicting stamping can be! You may find that you have arrange your stamping space into "his" and "hers".
hahaha... yeah not going to happen... there's barely enough "hers" space! We have a small place right now. When we go bigger he wants his glass bead making stuff anyway... so he'll be busy.

How cool he's already a "crafty" guy. That's why he "totally gets it" about how much you love stamping. The two of you make a great creative combination!

Yeah he was totally into the bead making in HS, but his parents weren't supportive at all. Right now he's trying to get into wood carving since he can do it on our patio w/out much stuff to buy. He dreams about having his own kiln and torch and well all that extra stuff- his hobby will probably be as expensive, or more than mine is! OH NO! So when we budget for a bigger place we have budget for the bead making stuff too! hahaha
That is the main reason, he never puts things back after he uses them, then I have search the house, cause he can't remember.

hahaha.. yeah I totally know what you mean! Everything in our house is like that... I have to drill into him "put it back where you found it!" And when ever something goes missing I always find it in the weirdest places!
