My cards are going in the mail today! This was such a nice project to work on, doing something for someone else, someone totally unknown to me. I found it very fulfilling. Just wish I had more time to make more cards.
Could someone please tell me how I could join this wonderful challenge? Do you guys have a monthly cause? I'm from Canada- does that matter? Do we need to send postage too? I'd love to use my gift in a giving way- so if someone could answer my questions that would be great- tho it would probably be quicker to message me here on SCS because this looks like a pretty long thread! (which is great ) thanks!
Just sending out 8 cards that have not had a home, and are residing in my closet! Included some from the weekly pink challenges we've been having, too! Thanks sooooooo much for coordinating this event, and letting us find out about such wonderful organizations that we can send cards to all year long!
Lexgabella, just go to the main link for Cards for a Cause, Chemo Angels, and the Splitcoast address is there to send the cards to! I think you just put all the cards and envelopes into one big packet, and send it straight to SCS...then they send alllll of the cards out together...someone correct me if I am wrong! Good Luck!
I know I seem to be late getting on this boat, but THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for this opportunity! I just signed up to be a Card Angel. I am an ED for an agency who serve adults who are MR/DD and when we fund raise, we ALWAYS talk about GIVING BACK. THANK YOU for giving me the opportunity to teach the joy of giving back to my adults who love without condition and want nothing more than to give back and help. And, interestingly, I have a cancer survivor in our group. They will be great at this!!! It is with tears of joy that I am so thankful for the giving nature of all the women at SCS who pave the way and open doors for women like me. I can't say thank you enough.
I have made some cards for the Chemo Angel cause this past VSN but I live in Canada!!! There is no way I can get them to you by the end of October...I live in Canada..what should I do?
I also didn't know if I was suppose to leave them blank inside or if I was suppose to write something in them???

Wonderful idea!! Maybe I can get a chance to stamp as well. Do they all have to be a certain color, size, shape, etc.? Or can they be any color... you get the idea!?
Oh - also, what type of card are they? Just "hello" or maybe "happy birthday" or what? I'm just wondering... or does it have to be just sentiment free?

I just got back from the post office. I made about 10 cards and cleaned out my large supply of RAK, pen pal, etc cards. I think there were about 50 cards in the box. So thank you to anyone who has sent me cards, more than likely they have been donated to this wonderful cause.

Check out posts #1 and #2 on this thread (go to page 1), they have some guidelines. Sounds like they want just about anything, except for "Good luck" and "Get Well".

This is such a wonderful campaign for charity! I got a late start, but sent some cards today via Priority Mail. So I sure hope they arrive by Nov 3rd.
I am so pleased to be a part of a community that puts such fabulous notions into action!

I feel like a novice which I am with the computer. HOW do I send you pictures of my cards? I have them downloaded but have no idea what email to use.

Please add 12 cards to the total for Chemo Angels, I mailed them directly to them on 11/28/08. I also included used ink cartridges for recycling.
I loved this challenge.
My colors were pink and chocolate chip.

Because of this forum I recently contacted Chemo Angels. I never knew such an organization existed. I was notified yesterday that I have been accepted as an Angel and I am anxiously and patiently waiting for my buddy information. I can't wait to get started! I think this is a great organization.:-D:-D
I have been an angel since October and I love it. It is so rewarding to be doing something nice for someone going thru chemo. I just sent her and her family some little small Easter gifts. Best of wishes to you.
