can someone explain bouncing your brayer to me?
I saw some great cards and it said they used bouncing your brayer technique for the background.
Can someone explain how you do this to me?
Thanks

I'd be interested in knowing this too...It sounds like instead of running your brayer smoothly across the paper, you do it in short quick movements (thus the bouncing ). Maybe someone will let us know for sure!

Is there a chance you could maybe post links to a few of the cards so we could all see?
Thanks

I saw them IRL. Or I would post them.
It gave the background of the cards a starburst like look.

Just thought I'd kick this thread back up to see if anyone knows what this technique is. I love brayer techniques and am curious!

Found some info....
Here is what I found...so far...
Supplies:
Soft Rubber Brayer
glossy cardstock
Kaleidacolor stamp pad any color
Ink brayer across the Kaleidacolor with colors pushed next to each other.
Hold your brayer above your piece of glossy cardstock horizontally. DO NOT
MOVE THE BRAYER EXCEPT TO BOUCNCE IT! Tap the brayer in a bouncing motion
onto the cardstock as your turn the cardstock. Do NOT TURN THE BRAYER . Try
to keep the brayer in the same position on the paper as it will centralize
the color in the middle.

A guess
I am guessing that you barely touch the paper with the brayer , because it sounds like you should get more of a starburst design rather than stripes? Maybe you touch it just enough to turn it a little to have a fresh surface as you rotate the cardstock?
Good luck..

That sounds pretty cool. I wish they hadn't retired so many of the Spectrum pads though. It really takes away alot of variety. I will have to try this.

Sounds like the "Starburst" technique found in the latest issue of Pat Huntoon's Technique Junkie Newsletter. Check out
www.Patstamps.com or
www.TechniqueJunkies.com for more info.

There's a
bouncing brayer tutorial in the Resources section right here at Splitcoast:
Bouncing Brayer and if you click on the gallery link at the end of the tutorial you can see lots of examples from SCSers who've uploaded bounced
brayer projects!
HTH!
