...I purchased the smaller pads that look like legal pads only they aren't as big. I want to put a nice cover on but I would like to know what people are using...cardstock? cardboard and paper? what type of adhesives work best for top quality? If anyone wants to share with me I'd be super grateful.
Sent an e-mail with this info, but am posting here for others. Attached are 2 files for jr. legalpadcovers that I got from SCS. The Adobe file is by JulieHRR, and is the one I use. The other is by Pilotwife0411, and uses folders to make the cover. Below is a link to a website that has instructions for the same type cover, and has a picture. Jeanne, thank you for posting the directions for all of us!! I want to make some of these. However, I can't open the Adobe file for some reason. It acts like it's open, but there's nothing there. Would you email to me at [email protected]? Thanks!!
Okay, I'm a dunce. I can't figure this thing out. Is only a portion of the back of the pad covered in cardstock? I'm getting confused. Can anyone help me out??
The back of the pad will be completely covered with cardstock, but using 2 pieces. Using JulieHRR's pattern, section C of the pattern is glued to the left side of the back on the pad, then the entire back of the pad (and that 2" flap that's been glued to the back of the pad) are covered with a 5" x 8" piece of cardstock. Sections A and B make the front cover(B) and inside pocket(A) that fold over onto the pad (like the cover of a book). The back side of section B is actually the front of the whole shebang...Make one on typing paper and once you see how it folds and attaches to the pad, it all makes perfect sense!

I have made the one by Julie several times. I even taught it at a kids class--I had it cut and scored for them, it turns out cute every time! Good Luck.
