WOW! Our 2nd year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2008 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2009.
It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2008! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
With that in mind, I thought I would invite all of you to a 2009 Scrapbook Challenge! Oh what fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends.
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person will post what their scrapbook page goal is for January. We will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. Along with the scrapbook page goal for January, if you'd like to play along with the "Using Stash Crew" decide what your scrapping budget will be for that month.
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and if you want to play along w/ saving --- save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund!
Money spent on Adhesive and Printing Pictures is not included in the monthly scrapping budget. We'll count pages 7x7 & up = 1 page for 1 page completed, 6x6 & smaller = 2 pages for 1 page completed.
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2009 Scrapbook Challenge! Happy New Year! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!

I'm SURE you will all agree that we need to go back and add in our focus on our scrapping budgets! It's a good time of the year to start as we'll all want extra $$ for the holidays. Some of us have been using the "budget" idea since we started, others not so much. I decided it would be easier to split from the page goal posts. There are several ways to do this:
1. Set a $$ spending budget for the month & track your expenditures against budget set.
2. Match your scrapbook/stamping spending by putting the same amount away in savings that you spend on scrapbook/stamp stuff. This gives you extra $$ for either more scrap/stamp spending or something fun
3. Set a "Scrap to Spend" page goal. Come up with a goal to complete before you spend more $$ (for instance, "complete 25 pages before spending"
4. Do a combination or all of them!
Many times scrapping and stamping supply purchases are "impulse" buys. We want to encourage not only LOTS of Pages completed but creative, productive use of our STASH. Let's see if together we can be "CREATORS" and not just "COLLECTORS". (Thanks MP )
You do NOT have to set a budget to play along with Scrappin' Goal Challenge. This is only for those of us who would like to play
I will post our Scrap Budgets here...let's see if we can band together and encourage everybody to keep on goal

 Tami -- (aka: BrideofPez)
We affectionately call Tami "Pezzi". She has the most AMAZING Pez Dispenser collection and has even been to a Pez convention or 2! When asked what her FAVORITE Scrappin' Supplies were, Tami answered, "omg, fave scrap supplies? I am soooooooooooo bad. Ilove paper & I have way too much! Prints and solids but mainly prints...oohhh and RIBBON! I have 3 shelves of ribbon here. Also, brads and eyelets. 2 drawers full, full, full!!!!!!!
Tami's also excited about her trip to Las Vegas mid-January!
 Christy (aka: Christy S)
While we may be in different time zones, we're REALLY glad to welcome Christy to our 2009 January Scrappin' Thread! She claims she was "pulled" here by her Scrappin' Inspiration/Motivation Gal - Liz (Elizabeth G). Woohoo! What is her FAVE scrappin' stash? "Favorite scrapping items...I have to say right now my blog. Usually several months have passed before I get around to scrapping my photos so it's good to have that reference so I can remember the little details! Other than that, I love my letter templates. I'm old school--I like to trace and hand-cut my letters for titles, crazy I know! My main staple is just plain cardstock, I like to keep the focus on the photos as much as possible so a lot of times I don't have a ton of embellishments" We've also been treated to her amazing Cross Stitching work so be sure to check out her gallery this month!

I'm here, signing up. Got a messed up finger right now, that middle one, all bandaged up, and not sure what I'll be able to do for the next few weeks, but want to challenge myself to 2 layouts per week.
When we re-done the 2009 budget, i decided to allow myself $10 a week for scrapping. I don't scrap shop weekly, and you can't buy much for $10, so it will force me to save some money before buying, at least I hope :-)
I also want to use up a lot of my stash before I buy anything else. the only exception is pre-christmas crafts for 09 and embellishments that I do not have and "need". That's all I'm allowing myself.
I am playing again! I am not sure yet of my goal for January cause it depends if I meet my Dec goal. Which I doubt cause I am moving the "office/scrap" room again (back into the dining room, but we scrapped off the wallpaper and hopefully we will have it painted today and moved in tomorrow. If that works than I can work on pages if it doesn't than I will have to make more pages my goal for Jan.
I will get back to you on that later this weekend, but I am so in for 2009.
Yay!!! I am super excited to be starting another year with you all!!! My January goal is going to be 31 because Jenn and I are going to be doing the January daily and my book is journal size. I am so hoping that I can keep up! My budget is gonna be my stash. It has been so cool using my scraps before grabbing that fresh sheet. My resolution is to keep organized. If you have any tips, please send them my way. Especially ribbon, I really need help in that area.
Since I've been completely failing my scrapbooking goals because of all the swaps I signed up for, I'll be less ambitious this month and go for 5 pages.

You know I'm in Count me down for 10 pages this month and 120 pages for the year since I'm not sure how much scrappin' I'll get down once the baby arrives.
I'm so excited to be starting a year NEW and FRESH! I'm going to set my goal at 150 pages for 2009. I'm going to pay myself (into a savings account) $4 for each page. I'm also going to pay myself $3 per card, $1 per rolodex card, and $5 per altered item. I'm really going to commit to saving money this year. My ultimate goal is a mini-vacation for the family. I do reserve the right to renegotiate (hopefully higher) as the year begins.
So, my January goal is 10 pages. It's a little on the low side (not the average number needed to complete all next year), but I have a paper to write for a conference in Feburary that has to be completed by the middle of January.

Yah!!!! New Goals....
Well, I am having to re-think my plan for the new year. As most everyone knows last year, my goal was to scrap 25 -50 pages per month and only use my stash. My budget was then put aside for my cruise / dinning room set. We opted for the dinning room set and it was really nice for Christmas Dinner!!!!
Now... my stash is about gone and I am in need of more 12x12 cardstock. I have tried the Digi-World and I really like the quickness of it. But I have missed my paper trails, even though I have tried to case my digi pages with paper.
So.... My Goals for Jan will be.....hum!.....50 pages / pay $1.00 per page / Save $40.00 for Cruise with DH / Spend $10.00 to reload stash
2009 ALREADY!?! Time flies when your having scrapping fun! My 2008 goal was 12 pages per month but as of now it's 10.5 per month. Therefore, I'm going to keep my goal of 12 pages per month for 2009. We budget as a family but I have dropped out of my Stamp Club and am now a 'pay as you go' customer versus a 'club' member; that will save me at least $20/ month which I will split between my Christmas & Vacation account. I've noticed my spending decreasing so I'm hoping that continues and no splurges other than maybe my birthday month (April). My cc's are at $0 and I intend to keep it that way!
I think I'll play this year! It will be a good thing for me to have goals as well as limits, plus I've got new toys I need to get some use out of I am going to aim for 20 pages this month (this includes my swaps) with a budget of $30. I also want to complete at least 3 mini albums to have on hand for gifts and 10 new card designs. This is pretty ambitious for January, but I figure I should get as much done as possible before school starts again!
Good luck to everyone with their goals! I can't wait to hear how everyone does.
Count me in. I wil try to do eight pages each month. I have lots of stash suff to use and some stuff I still haven't opened! I paying myself $5 per page and $3 per card. The mad money will go towards a holiday trip to New York City next December.
OK, my one and only crafting goal for 2009 is to get back into scrapbooking (I put it on hold for the past couple years and got into card making and making 3-D items) so I'm SO happy you are doing this again! I'm a slow, detailed scrapper so my goal for January is 4 pages. I'm going to be just a page goal scrapper this year, no budget numbers or pay per page. This is going to be so fun!!!!!
Can't believe it's 2009 already!!!!! Ok, so I'm thinking my goal should be 20 pages each month, for a total of 240 pages for the year. Most of those will be digital, but a few paper pages in there as well. (I don't discriminate! LOL!)
Hopefully I can get moved to my new house and scrapbook space early this year so that I have lots of room to get back into scrapbooking more frequently!!!
I'm soo there! My goal is 12 pages and stash. That'll be a first for stash! ;)
K, Liz is absolutely hounding me to join y'all...I need to catch up!! My goal for January will be 10 pages, I'm trying to get caught up with my Japan scrapbook since it's the most recent. When it's all caught up then I'll start my honeymoon album... No budget goals for me
YAY! We're so glad to have all of you join us SCRAPPIN' 2009!!
YAY! We're going to have LOTS of FUN scrappin' together in 2009! We had a blast in 2008 and we've shared so much! I'm really looking forward to 2009together!
Scrap On Sisters!

Gina called and sent me a link. I had totally lost you all! So many familiar faces here! Several new ones too! I am so anxious to be scrappin again. I have taken a break to work on the Pirate Quilt that I was making for Zeke for Christmas. Actually, I am still making it! Poor little guy got a rain check for Christmas! He didn't seem to mind though! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with the quilt and getting in a scrappy mood. So, I'll still keep it low. Say 10 for January. I'll have to think about the budget. Not too good at sticking with them. So glad to be back!

It's so nice to 'see' you again Carol! I've been wondering about you - last post I saw from you was something about a quilt - I'm sure Zeke will forgive you. I can't wait to see the pictures. Welcome bac.

I'm in for 4-6 pages (I have exams to work through in January) for the month of January. My budget...not sure since I'm seriously thinking about buying a big shot in February. Perhaps my budget for January will be $0.

I am still working on Dec., so I am hanging out over there!
Should we be moving to over here?
Thanks for asking. I just wanted to get the January thread started "early" since everyone was already thinking 2009. We can keep chattin' in Dec until the 1st of the year...
