OK Scrappin' Friends! It's time for us to move on to November!! Can you believe it? WOOHOO!! Let's start setting our November Scrappin' Goals.

If you weren't able to join us in Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, June, July, August, September or October PLEASE come and play in November! We have a SCRAPPIN' Good Time!!

Scrappin' Challenge 2008
It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2008! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...

The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund!

Scrappy Sisters,

I'm SURE you will all agree that we need to go back and add in our focus on our scrapping budgets! It's a good time of the year to start as we'll all want extra $$ for the holidays. Some of us have been using the "budget" idea since we started, others not so much. I decided it would be easier to split from the page goal posts. There are several ways to do this:

1. Set a $$ spending budget for the month & track your expenditures against budget set.
2. Match your scrapbook/stamping spending by putting the same amount away in savings that you spend on scrapbook/stamp stuff. This gives you extra $$ for either more scrap/stamp spending or something fun
3. Set a "Scrap to Spend" page goal. Come up with a goal to complete before you spend more $$ (for instance, "complete 25 pages before spending"
4. Do a combination or all of them!

Many times scrapping and stamping supply purchases are "impulse" buys. We want to encourage not only LOTS of Pages completed but creative, productive use of our STASH. Let's see if together we can be "CREATORS" and not just "COLLECTORS". (Thanks MP )

Wow! This year we're together during the HOLIDAYS! What a BLESSING it will be to share this time together. Let's remember though that this can also be a time of stress and unhappy moments. I thought it would be fun if we shared some "HAPPY MOMENT" mail with each other. Here's how it works:

I'll start by sending out a Scrappin' Sisters envelope of "HAPPY MOMENT" Mail. The envelope could include card, quote, interesting idea found on a website printed for them, copy of a magazine article, small scrappy surprise AND (1) ONE photo. The photo should be something fun for your Sis ... a photo that brings a smile. Each receiving Sister MUST do the following: Take 5 minutes to sit and ENJOY her envelope, SMILE at everything, POST to the THREAD it was received and SEND a "HAPPY MOMENT" envelope on to another Sister. If by some chance you receive an envelope and are unable at the time to send out another one (after all, we don't want to make this more stressful) then please let me know and I will send one for you. Once you have selected the SIS you want to send a SMILE to please "PM" me or Jennipher (Stamptician) for her address if you don't already have it.

It does not have to be a stamped/handmade card (gasp!) as this is supposed to be for FUN and SMILES. The quicker you can get out another envelope, the better as more SISTERS will get MORE SMILES! Please select only from our NOVEMBER SCRAPPIN' SISTERS. You can choose any Sister you'd like, even if she's received a SMILE from someone else.

Keep it simple, keep it fun, keep it reasonable, keep it in an envelope!

Hi Lela. Since October was such a good month for me, I'll do the same for November. Put me down for 10 pages for November. I didn't spend too much last month, but I am in a number of clubs and I am required to spend a certain amount each month. So for now, I'll not limit my spending $$.

Last night we got a contract on our house & put a contract down on our new house!! Yah-hooo!!! My life is no longer in limbo. I've missed you guys - it was just too depressing to visit often when I knew I was out of the scrappy loop. Now there's light at the end of the tunnel - I'm so excited!!

I know I'll be too busy to scrap more than one page this month (we close the 21st) but at least I know I'm on the right track. My goal is really to get my craft room FUNCTIONAL. Hopefully by December I'll be able to really scrap!!

I'm in for 30 pages and $30 spent and $30 into savings.

In October I did 38 pages (18 over goal - woo hoo!), spent $48 and donated $50. My YTD is 284.

My insane goal for November, get my albums finished except for the Santa picture page. So I've counted out the page and I think I have around 96 pages to finish so and one for last month.

MY GOAL FOR NOVEMBER IS 101.

I'd like to do scrap to spend challenge, but I'm not positive how it works.

Well, I can answer for the Scrapbook Goals RAK List:
An RAK is simply a Random Act of Kindness. It's mostly just randomly sending someone a card to brighten their day, just because no special reason. It doesn't always have to be a card and you can always include a few scrappin' goodies like some fibers or flowers that the recipient could use on their page or just stick with sending them a card. It's totally up to you. Sometimes on the chat thread members post when they are having a tough time or dealing with certain issues and as scrappers we tend to have big hearts and won't to do something for them. So, you might decide to send them a card that you made. If you are interested in this RAK list which will be ongoing and you can be as active as you choose you will need to pm me with your name and address.

Lela has a program going for the Holidays which is really fun and she did a great job of explaining it in one of the earlier posts:

Last night I spent most of the evening sorting all the pictures of my boys "pre-scrapbook" days. When I started scrapping I just started with current and went forward. I'm actually just about caught up with current so now I am going back to do the older photos. Oh my! It brought tears to my eyes to see my little guys, where did the time go?! I have 1-1/2 CM Powersort Boxes full of sorted picts to scrap ... wow, I wish I would have journaled about these moments when they were younger! :o

Oh sniff Lela! I can just imagine how poignant this must be for you. What a big job, getting them all organized like that - good for you!!! I just can't wait to see the 'vintage' (hahaha) pages of baby boys in the bath and smooshed birthday cake faces. :mrgreen:

Wendy, great question. Well I started out thinking we'd have a couple moving around but it seems everyone just wants to pick a sister (or more?) to mail to so we'll go with it that way.

You can still select anyone you'd like to send to on our November scrappin' thread. If the Sister who receives the envelope cannot at the time send out a SMILE Package, no worries, just "PM" me and I'll send one to the Sister you choose for you.
