Name of Group: The Hos' and Pimps' Convention
Complimentary Continental Breakfast each morning is included. Other Amenities include Cable Television, In Room Coffee Makers, Swimming Pool, and Hi-speed Internet. We'll leave it up to individuals to pair up if they want to share rooms.
• The closest airports to Garfield, NJ are Newark/EWR (30 minutes) or New York City/JFK (about an hour). The last time I checked Scrappy was not working as a taxi driver, so it'll be our responsibility to get to from the airport to the hotel and back.
• Most of us are flying in either the night of 07/18/2008 or early on 07/19/2008.
• You might want to think about renting a car if you plan on going anywhere other than the hotel and the airport . . And speaking of transportation, Scrappy asked me to tell you that there are buses that run to-and-from Atlantic City constantly for $20.00 - $30.00 including gambling vouchers.
• LSS CROP is OFFICIALLY CLOSED LADIES! If you really still want to attend and haven't made it to the list - please e-mail urscrappymama and asked to be put on the waitlist - estimated cost will be $35, likely including lunch. On Monday, the scrapbook store (which carries Bellas and Elzybells) that Scrappy works for is closing the door and hosting a shoebox swap for us complete with two meals for a fee of likely $35.00. We will be doing two shoebox swaps, and for those who want to participate in door prizes, bring a prize worth between $10 to $20 (hand made stuff, or bought, or combination of the two). We'll exchange your door prize for a number to be drawn through out the swap.
• The rest of the time we’re there, things are going to be pretty fluid. This is a very informal get-together. Short of the Monday LSS plans, there are no planned/organized events. No one is charge of entertainment, meals, and rides.
• Kids are more than welcome. Scrappy will be bringing her sidekick, Baby Bella, with her just about everywhere she goes, so we don’t want you thinking that you can’t do the same.
• Ma Ma Ho doesn't want to see any nasty feet/pedicures on any of you!
Scrappy is the point of contact for the Pimps & Hos convention. Her user ID on SCS is urscrappymama and her e-mail address is [email protected]. She will keep a list of who is coming (because she needs a head count for the shoebox swap) and will answer any questions you have. If you e-mail her please put "Pimps & Hos Convention" in the Subject line so she doesn't think it's spam. . .
We would love to meet each and every one of you. All of you make SCS one of the very best things about our day. We’ve made so many friends. . .We’ve had some really great conversations. . .And, we’ve Rolled-On-The-Floor-Laughing-Our-Asses-Off more times than we can possible remember. So, think about it, and post here if you'd like to attend so we have an ideal of how many people are going to get together.

Please bring two shoe box projects - one will be a card; the second will be your choice - either a second card or an altered item.
We recommend the "host" bring the original stamps and whatever the preferred coloring medium and ink pad are, for others to use as needed. For each project, make a minimum of 9 kits (we have 9 coming - if you don't mind, bring 9, 10, and 11th kits for P.P. Ho, Ma Ma Ho, and lovely owner of LSS who is opening up the store for our swap); each kit to include:
- 2 stamped images
- 1 card base
- 1 to 2 4x6 designer paper
- 1 or more embellishment
or whatever will be needed for an altered item
Bring your own adhesive and cutter (if you don't, the store will have some adhesive to purchase and cutters possibly to use)
The scrapbook store will also be sponsoring a project.
We also recommend bring a door prize valued between $10 to $20 of handmade, bought or combination of the two. You will be given a number for the door prize you bring, and we will hold a raffle through out the swap.
If possible, please tell us the stamp you'll be using for the shoe box swap. I'll update the list next to your name.
Please let me know if anyone has a better suggestion, as this is my first shoe box swap and I have no ideal what I'm talking about ;)

What is a Ho Call?
I'm going to take the liberty and address this question. A Ho Call is when someone who has a reputation for being a reliable swapper, meaning someone who sends in their swap on time (or tried very hard to most of the time), and doesn't back out without a good reason, hosts or recommends a swap with a person they think will be a good hostess. There is no pressure to join. Its simply to let the usual suspects know that a bunch of us will congregate and cause havoc on a particular thread, and enjoy each other's company. No one should be offended if others don't join, or resort to guilt trips or be bent out of shape. A "heads up" and "I think this'll be fun and reliable" is what a Ho Call is.
Moving this list to the first page so I can find the dang thing! Please don't be offended if you don't see your name here. I've sort of given up on trying to keep this list of Hos current ;)
Ho status is reached by showing an addiction to swapping, and being considered enough to actually swap on time, without flaking (at least not without a good darn reason), and not being a uptight prude, and most importantly, being boinked by Ma Ma Ho.

Joining purley to chatter.... until Mary Poppins comes to stay at my house for a week while I slip away, I'm confined to trips of 48 hours or less, lncluding drive time.
I live in the Dayton Ohio area and would like to drive with at least one car mate. Anyone interested, split gas & room (Motel 6?) I'm a real cheapskate when it comes to motels. Save teh money for more important things, like stamps, lol.

Hey Julie! You are a sistah after my own heart! I don't care where I stay most of the time as long as its safe and clean! I'm not hanging out in a motel when there is better things to do...like find good deals of stamping supplies! That said, maybe you can fly via Skybus to another closer airport and get a transfer to Newark Airport? Just a thoguht! ;)

Julie...I am going to fly from Columbus...Heather Tripp (chris1josh2) is still waiting to see what their vaca plans are, but said the drive is like 7 hrs... she wanted me to drive w/ her...but I am all for the less than 2 hr flight!!!!
You could always drive here, then ride with her.... shoot her a PM and put that bug in her ear!!!

Where in Dayton is Enon... I know where Eaton is, but that is near Indy... but not familiar with Enon... I use to live in Tipp City before moving to Columbus!
currently, the lodgings we're looking at is about$100 a night so if you can find a room mate, it'll cut it down to $50.

Hello my fellow Ho's....how is everyone today?? As Manda stated earlier...I am waiting to see if DH gets his new job which will determine if our Disney trip is still on or not. If not...I have a good shot at making it. If its still on...I will not be able to as it is the week before you all are getting together. So I am torn as to which way I am leaning....a week by the pool and disney characters for the kiddos or a new job for DH and some time with you all!!!

although I am not an official Ho, I would love to try to work on being there. I live outside Philly, just a 2 hour drive for me. Let me know if non ho's are welcome.

OH MAN!!! When I got the PM I got super excited...for the now...I'm on the MAYBE list! I'm talking to hubby about it and he laughed when I told him the "title" of the convention...lol. He knows this is SO for me. I asked my DD and she would like to join me since she's my partner in crime when it comes to stamping...(then I told her about the Bellas...lol) so now she for sure wants to go. Sooooo, now I may have to preform a special treat to the hubby to convince him! ;) He wants me to get out so...we'll see! I do need to find someone who can cover for me for that weekend to care for my parents...so that's the hard part! I will keep tracking back here to post a definate yes or no though!
I have a sad tale to tell. Just found out that is the probable week for our VBS. Since I am the official Craft Lady, it has to take precedence of such a wonderful meeting of the "Ho's". Our VBS director has to check with a couple of the other church members who usually head up other stations to see if it is an okay week for them. If I am lucky, we may have it the week before our Ho party ans I can come. Keep your legs, er, I mean fingers crossed for me.
welllllll i see now that Manda and Heather are coming.... we might be able to get a group rate outta Columbus. Are you two bringing your kids? some of your kids?
If i did come, I would have to bring Karsyn. Let me check some rates. We are going to a Beaches Resort in July (yeah, the one with Sesame Street characters... $$$), so I will have to see what I can do between now and then to finagle the finances...
