baby headbands

Does anyone know how to make baby headbands using knee high nylons? I've you can make them this way but I don't understand how I would connect the two ends together. If i knotted them together...

I did but only because I was trying to stamp on a fold out table instead of something a little sturdier. Once I moved to the kitchen table it worked great for me.
