I'm glad you found a solution. As for myself, I ignore the measurements when it comes to scoring and just rotate the paper to where it lines up and score.

Update response received from Fiskars

I received a response from Fiskars after sending pictures of the defective product . Since it was covered under their warranty they're sending me replacement blades. :)

So far the only thing that has sparked an interest is the pearlized alcohol inks.
I would not be surprised if next year he'll offer metallic alcohol inks.
