IMHO, I think direct sunlight might be a problem, but stamps stored on a shelf, with indirect lighting would probably be ok!

I use an empressor (no light box) for dark CS, as long as the backside does not show, it's all good. It turns out looking just like you used a stylus and light box! 8)
