I've had trouble with my new markers too with the nibs already broken down. It looks like I'll have to buy new markers instead of just replacing the nib. Oh well.

I made 45 cards using artichoke and burgundy markers on the stamp and then misted, and they all turned out great! Wasn't very time consuming to me.

I feel for you, but you really should write to Fiskars. I did with a deckle scissors I had many years ago and they replaced it, no problem. But in the mean-time I use on my paper when my blades start...
