For me it's stamping hands down. Although it takes a lot of time, I love working on the Thomas Kinkade scene stamps. Also love the Stampscapes stamps and coloring those with ink techniques.

Never had a problem with cracking while embossing with folders. You do want to use a mid to heavy weight paper. It is a bit more opaque but has such a nice feel to it.
