I used the Krylon and it IS heat resistant. But yes, if you have asthma, have your brother do it....the smell is overwhelming.

Depending on how "thick" you make your shaker (I often use foamcore board or double up my foam tape to add more room for larger items to move freely), you can really get creative.

Probably the Terrifically Tacky Tape (official name for it)...it looks red in the package, but is actually clear, and it holds beads and other small items wonderfully!
