Have you checked to make sure that your new role of tape is "snapped" down on the spindle when you put it on? I had that problem when I first got my ATG. There is a little tab than needs to snap...

I'm a lefty and I don't experience that problem. I use stazon ink which dries quickly. If I'm using pigment ink I make sure and let it dry before I start coloring or I heat set it with my heat gun....

Here is the US I use isopropyl alcohol 99% with my alcohol inks. I use an eyedropper to add it to my applicator tool and it works for me.
