I used a beading needle just recently, which is really tiny in width. I poked around inside the nozzle with the needle and the glitter started coming out with the clear glue again.

The boxes really aren't great quality. I think I'd be afraid that the paint would make the paper covering bubble up.

If they were wood boxes, I'd paint them in a heartbeat!
