Happy Sunday ladies. I haven’t managed to get back to scrapping as I’ve been off colour for a few days and haven’t been creating. Last night I had to make some samples as I’m hosting the S2S challenge this coming week and also had some special birthday cards to make that need to be mailed to the States tomorrow.

I have addresses and birthdays for Sharon (smadson), Joyce Ann, Nancy, Amy and Lela (Lela I don’t have your birthday).....If anyone else would like to receive a card from me, pm me. Nancy, I saw that you had asked for birthdays. Is everyone ok for me to share their details or would you prefer to pm Nancy directly? I’m happy to put together a birthday list for our thread if you would like one.

I so want to get back to scrapping..that’s this week.

Happy day everyone and happy scrapping. Hugs

In my opinion, Jayne, I think sharing our address list is safe in PM or email, or the likes. I'm fine with it.

Tried to sign up for the "live scrap" but didn't seem to get it right. Is it a pay plan she has?

Unfortunately I'm not scrapping much lately but hope to pick it up again soon.

Hope we all start the new week on a happy note with lots of beautiful memories to scrap!

No I did join and pay for anything. I signed up for emails and she emails when she will have a live live scrap. I just had to get Zoom. It is free. That is how you all can be on together. Also, she puts the whole thing on you tube after. Here is June, when I won the drawing. She hasn’t linked the other yet!

Also near the end, I even showed my layout I did while we watched or listened to her. You don’t see the chat in the video. Kind of scary that I am in this video on you tube, in my house dress! LOL

JCI. How is everyone? Anyone scrapping? I have one more VSBN LO to do. Then I have to start packing for an October 3rd Scrap retreat! I have to order photos from our Colorado retreat to do that scrapbook while there, and maybe also get supplies ready to work on A Christmas project, while there. I love this scrap retreat! Someone else does all the meals, no house cleaning, get up and go to bed anytime I want.go walking, or watch movies while scrapping in my pjs all day if I want! So relaxed. Oh, and a lot of talking and enabling! LOL. I can chat or put on my earphones and watch movies. Except this time, I have met my table mate this week end. And I think there is going to be a whole lot of talking going on! LOL.

Have fun at your retreat Sharon.
I was suppose to go to a crop Oct 2 for 5 days but had to cancel due to hubby needing full time attention.

Our new house hit a slow down when the electricians took a month to get their work done!! then when look at how electronically our lives have become it's not surprising it take so long to run the miles and miles of wires!!

It will be a few months yet before we move.

In the meantime I scrap away if I am not cleaning or attending to hubby.

Sharon I’m about to craft...to finish my samples and then scrap.

I have been checking how many pages I’ve done this year...a whole 16...I have decided to count my smaller pages as one as they take just as much time and some were fiddly. I had also done a few that I hadn’t posted. My small album is so big I can’t fit them all in and may need to rethink how I do travel albums in future. This idea doesn’t seem to be working and considering I want to include ad many photos as possible.

Sharon (Sewflake).....I need to find another name for you lol....building a home does take time and electrics seem to take a long time. Sorry to hear that you had to cancel your scrap retreat.

Time for me to start creating and less chatting lol.

Lela..put me down for YTD...16. Thanks.

Happy day everyone

For a long time I have wanted to do some art journaling and so I started. I went with making an "A-B-C" album to give me a starting place. This way I can focus on a letter at a time instead of stressing over what a page should be about, pretty much, anyway.
I tagged both the VSBN 'a' & 'b' challenges just to have more variety in those galleries.
The book is signature from a travelers notebook so it measures 8 x 4 inches.

Funniest thing happened to me on the way to making a VSBN page....I forgot AGAIN, to dig out the edge die. My layout came together so fast that I get sidetracked then forget to hunt for the die. I will try again tomorrow in the meantime I will get the die out now!!

Sharon, my TN was a purchased package that my DD bought at a craft class. (Here is a picture of one.) It is made by G45. DD covered all the kraft surfaces and made a beautiful album as a gift to me. Of the 3 sections, I have already started using one to document my travels. I was going to use one as my planner for next year, but when I found a very useful one on clearance at Tuesday Morning that was blank and set up the way I like, I changed my mind. So, decided to use one of the signatures for doing some art journaling, which I have wanted to do more of for a while. Perfect size so I don't feel overwhelmed. Hopefully I'll keep it up, it's kinda fun to see what I can come up with for the letters. I have "B" prepped with a watercolor background and ready to add photos.

Melissa, so happy to see you again posting here! Amazing pages!

Jayne, was there a special style of TN sold in Japan? I bet it has an amazing cover.

Joyce Ann I purchased one originally on Amazon and bought inserts and other items in Japan. I’ll find the link for you. Mine is leather and has lots of inserts, similar to yours and you can purchase all types of paper...plain, ruled, grid, etc. I prefer the plain. I took mine to Japan and only used one booklet. Great for travelling.

Here’s the book I purchased on Amazon....

Amazon.com : Refillable Leather Journal Travelers Notebook - 8.5 x 4.5 Travel Diary with 5 Inserts + Pen Holder and Binder Clip, Standard Size, Brown : Office Products

All the inserts are available too on Amazon...they are the same in Japan. There’s more accessories at the store in Japan.

Hope this helps.

Loved your Grand Tetons layout, but I had to share my experience there. I've tried to go to the Grand Tetons twice in my life, but the first time it was raining so hard we couldn't see anything, and the second time the road was blocked due to a forest fire. Seems my visits are a trigger for natural disasters to happen, so I'd better not try again or there might be an earthquake!

I want to scrapbook today, but my next pictures in line are 45 photos of a child's Frozen birthday party. Not sure I'm really in the mood for that. It could be really fun but I'm not feeling creative enough to figure out how to scrap 45 photos! Might have to skip them for now, or maybe I will do a few and come back later to do the rest. Decisions, decisions . . .

Oh, Cheryl, you are so funny!

Just scrap something!

I spent the day taking DD to appointments at the VA clinic. Did a little sopping after. Once home I finished the card I started last night. So, no scrapping for me either.

Jayne, that journal is so attractive! I will take of photo of the one DD made for me with G45 papers. It came with those 3 different types of pages, too. I used the lined for my trip recent to St Pete where we visited the Dali museum. The plain one, which has nice paper that is holding up to a little mixed media well, and the grid I plan to use for making note of ideas. (I should post the pages I did of the museum!)

Sharon, loved your FSU page!

I do like whoever's journal was on Amazon. I drooled. I put it on my wish list. I'm a journal junkie. I once bought all the stuff to make my own travel notebook inserts. I may try a mixed media journal. When I used my travel notebook, I loved it. I think the problem was - no real estate. Instead of fifty million composition books, I could use fifty million travel notebooks that I could take with me in one leather notebook. Like I don't have at least three leather covers already. I could do one insert for each topic. Did I try that before? Hmmmm...

OK. We need a travel notebook challenge. But first we need to get started.

Okay ladies, since Amy finished all five challenges for VSBN, I posted a bonus challenge. It's a little different take on cutting, but hopefully it will inspire you all to finish the first five so you can play along!

I added 4 more pages to VSBN die cut challenge. Used my Cricut for two and my Cuttlebug the other two. These are rest of the Mother/Son Sigma Pi weekend pages.

Funny story here is that this year the fraternity boys decided as a group to take the Mom’s bowling. So my best friend and I are each pretty athletic but when we play any sport together we are also uncommonly lucky. Over the years are husbands have become more than exasperated by this trend as we have beat them in many different sports over and over again when we play together. So... as it so happens my husband explains and warns my son and her son of this phenomenon (as they like to call it) when we play them and win. So we go bowling and it sure enough happened to the boys, too! I played my best EVER and I just couldn’t stop laughing because now it’s happened to them AND in front of the whole fraternity! I bowled a 175! Everyone kept asking if I play in a league... nope I played twice in the past 10 years! It’s Best Friend Luck Strikes AGAIN!

Question for you ladies: What is your go to liquid adhesive? From where do you purchase?

I discovered Gina K Connect Glue. And I totally LOVE it! I've been watching Jennifer McGuire for quite a while. Bought two tubes from Gina K. They sat around. Since I'm stacking die cuts and scrapping on mixed media, I need liquid glue. Seems like, though, you can go through a tube fast. Pretty sure I used almost 3/4 a tube for the pages I posted for DTGD. Now, pages are not cards and you'd use more glue. Then, when you need some, it's usually out of stock at Gina K. Simon Says has it. Some scrappers for Hip Kit Club use Glitter Glue. Jennifer McGuire used Multi Medium Matte in the past. I need to dig around and see if I actually do have a thing of Mono Multi. While I'm trying to run out of Gina K Connect Glue , I got curious. What liquid adhesive do you use?

Melissa I always use Tombow...it’s hard to get here now. I go through a lot. I don’t like the SU one in the green bottle...I find it messy. I also use gel medium or mod podge....I even use the poppets craft glue..whatever sticks and works. I am now starting to buy my glue from a local art store that sells a lot of mixed media paints, etc....they are also fairly cheap. Our local hardware store also stocks mod podge. I’ve even used clear gesso when I’ve been stuck...lol.

Have fun and I love the idea of a travel notebook or mixed media challenge...I’ve today decided I am a big fan of mixed media and out of all the challenges probably the one I love the most. I am going to be culling my stamps and dies and just focusing on things I can use in mixed media. I’ve got a lot I haven’t even broken the seal on so may have to try and sell on eBay to justify my spender send to friends lol....watch this space.

Happy day and weekend everyone.

I have a huge variety of products that I can and do use as a liquid glue. It depends on what I am trying to glue down.

I bought a jar (more like paste than glue) of Liquitex Gloss Gel to use for a photo transfer technique. I was not very good at the technique and gave up...the gel was a little expensive so I knew I HAD to use it for something.

I found it worked well for adhering heavy bulky items to a page, wood, metal large flowers... and it drys clear.
I have started to use a variety of my pastes as an adhesive for mixed media if I am going to add paint or color as not all pastes I have dry clear.

I have mod Podge and Elmers glue for paper.
I just bought one of the fine tip dispensers for my Elmers glue (best price) and have started using that for small projects. I love how easy it is to get just the right amount of glue in narrow/small spaces. It would work great for stacking die cuts and titles!!!
I had bought a large container of the elmers glue for DGK's projects with lots leftover...trying to use it up!! I also use it in place of Mod Podge if I don't have MP on hand.

Creative Expressions 3 Pack Ultra Fine Tip Glue Applicator

I have used and still do, Aqua Mono Liquid glue (blue bottle, I prefer that over the green bottle) but it does not hold the heavier elements very well.

I have found just about any of the pastes I have will work with any mixed media I do and since I have a dozen different types/brands I will not go looking for more. After 5 years I still have some of that gloss gel I mentioned, for heavy duty needs! It does not take much!

Melissa, I will have to take a closer look at the page you mentioned to see what took so much glue.

Back in my SU days I discovered cards stored in the drawer for a few months were falling apart. I quit using the roller tape in the handy little applicator. Researched what people were using that would hold up for years, as I didn't want my scrap pages coming apart. I found "Yes! Paste". It is my favorite and lasts a long time. Once it dries it doesn't let go, and the bonus of the adjustment time to get the piece straight that you don't get with tape. I use it for everything but the things I need the needle point for. Being a paste it doesn't warp your paper like water products do. I apply with a cheap white plastic spatula and I can get a nice thin covering. Not much is needed to have it hold, I apply to the edges of every piece instead of coating the whole because the glued item doesn't come off.
For the thin things, like delicate embellishments or my letters, I use "ART INSTITUTE GLITTER-Designer Dries Clear Adhesive is an industrial strength adhesive." I friend was using it. It is a powerful adhesive, you can put down bulky or slightly heavy things that the liquid adhesives don't hold onto. I used to use glues dots for sticking those items and even my sequins down, now use this and am amazed. Bought mine from Heartfelt Creations. If not ordering from Heartfelt you can find it other places, too. I use the Paste mostly, but when I just need a drop here and there, or a thin line, I grab the Dries Clear.
Yes! Paste is awesome for multi-media because it holds so well. When I had a thick watercolor panel I pasted it down and sat a book on it to dry - no problem. With the Dries Clear you don't have to hold very long and it is stuck. Haven't tried on large pieces because the paste works and is cheaper.
So, Melissa, you asked and I wrote you a book!

Joyce Ann, I started out using Yes Paste, I wonder what happened to it?? One jar got kind of old and dried. I was still trying to salvage it but why?? It's not like you costs much and it last a long long time!!
